Saddle up: Netflix western Ransom Canyon unveils a cast shake-up as fresh faces ride in alongside returning favorites—meet the posse.

Ransom Canyon is finally riding back into town. Season 2 arrives nearly a year after the first batch of episodes, and it sounds like the show is doubling down on what worked: messy romance, family feuds, and those simmering fights over land and power. Stakes are up. Tempers are up. And, yes, the cast is the headline.

Who is back in Season 2

  • Minka Kelly as Quinn O'Grady — Friday Night Lights fans know her well; she also popped up on Euphoria.
  • Josh Duhamel as Staten Kirkland — back in the saddle after Season 1; longtime viewers might remember his All My Children days.
  • Lizzy Greene as Lauren Brigman — you may know her from Nickelodeon's Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn and as Sophie Dixon on A Million Little Things.
  • Garrett Wareing as Lucas Russell — seen on Manifest; earlier credits include Boychoir and Independence Day: Resurgence.
  • Casey W. Johnson as Kit Russell — previously in GLOW and For All Mankind.
  • Jack Schumacher as Yancy Grey — he flew as LT Neil "Omaha" Vikander in Top Gun: Maverick; also appeared in After All.
  • Brett Cullen as Sam Kirkland.
  • Tatanka Means as Jake Longbow.
  • Marianly Tejada as Ellie Estevez.

New faces (and a couple surprises)

Season 2 adds Steve Howey as Staten's half-brother, Levi; Patricia Clarkson as Quinn's mother, Claire; and Heidi Engerman as Sidney. Ben Robson is joining too, along with country stars Thomas Rhett and Jordan Davis — a fun curveball that should get people talking even before we see who they are playing.

What to expect this time

The new season is pitched as even more mysterious and dramatic than Season 1. Staten, specifically, is not the same guarded guy we met last year. He is trying to clean up his messes and, at least this time, lean into actually living a little.

"My character isn't as sullen as he was last year," Josh Duhamel told Tudum. "He's much more out of his shell. He has fun."

Behind the scenes, executive producer and writer April Blair says the team had even more fun making Season 2 — which usually means a bigger swing on story and character. Between the returning favorites and the fresh additions, expect new alliances, new grudges, and more than a few showdowns out on that West Texas dirt.
