Gal Gadot clarifies her Wonder Woman future in the DCU
Gal Gadot addressed whether she’ll reprise Wonder Woman in the DCU — and you’ll want to hear her answer.
Speaking while promoting her new Prime Video thriller, Gal Gadot said she’s had no “specific” conversations with James Gunn or DC Studios about returning as Wonder Woman in the rebooted DC Universe. She added that while there were once talks about a third Wonder Woman movie, there was never a discussion about her reprising Diana Prince or sliding into another role in the new slate.
Gadot’s Diana arrived with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and headlined two solo films, Wonder Woman (2017) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020). On the future front, Gunn has said a new Wonder Woman movie is in development with Ana Nogueira (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow) writing the script, but no casting has been announced.
“This is such an incredible character that so many of us care about so much, so whoever it 's going to be to portray her, I wish for her that she enjoys this amazing ride with this amazing character,” Gadot told ScreenRant.
Her next move
Gadot shifts from superhero armor to frazzled parent in The Runner, playing Maia, an elite lawyer whose picture-perfect life shatters when a caller claims her son has been kidnapped. The psychological thriller unspools as Maia is forced to follow a series of high-stakes instructions to try to get him back.
