Editorial Standards How we source, review, correct and publish everything on Cuttingsfg.com.

Cuttingsfg.com covers film, television, streaming and celebrities for a global English-speaking audience. These standards explain how we work — what we publish, how we check it, and how you can hold us accountable.

1. Who writes for us

Every article on Cuttingsfg.com is written, edited and reviewed by a real, named member of our team. Author profiles list expertise areas, contact details and everything each author has published for us. See our Editorial Team. We do not publish anonymous or fabricated bylines, and we do not accept guest contributions without an editor of record.

2. Sourcing and accuracy

We base reporting on primary sources wherever possible:

  • Official press releases and studio/streamer announcements
  • On-the-record interviews we conducted ourselves
  • Verified social accounts of the individuals and organisations involved
  • Court filings, regulatory documents and other public records

When we cite another outlet's reporting, we link to it and credit it in the copy. We clearly separate confirmed facts from rumour, speculation and opinion.

3. Reviews and ratings

Reviews are the opinion of the named author, informed by their expertise. We rate on a 1–10 scale and always explain what the rating reflects (writing, direction, performances, cultural relevance). Where a review is based on a preview screener or embargo, we say so. We disclose any relevant conflicts (previous work on the show, personal connection to talent) inside the review itself.

4. Celebrity reporting

Coverage of public figures follows the same accuracy standards as all our reporting. We do not publish unverified rumours or fabricated quotes. Where we report on someone's private life, we only do so when the information is (a) already on the public record, (b) confirmed by a credible source, or (c) relevant to their public role. We give subjects a reasonable opportunity to respond before publishing anything critical or contested about them.

5. Spoilers

Reviews and explainers may contain spoilers. When they do, we mark them clearly in the headline, standfirst or before the spoiler section starts. News articles do not spoil unaired episodes without an explicit warning.

6. Corrections

We correct mistakes promptly and openly.

  • Report an error: email info@cuttingsfg.com with the article URL and the nature of the mistake.
  • Minor typos and formatting issues are corrected silently.
  • Factual corrections are logged on the article with a dated note.
  • We do not delete published articles to hide errors. If a piece is retracted entirely, a retraction notice remains on the URL.

7. Independence and advertising

Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial and advertising relationships. Sponsored content, affiliate placements and paid partnerships are clearly labelled, and no advertiser has approval over what we publish. We do not accept payment in exchange for coverage or reviews.

8. Use of AI

We may use AI tools for research assistance, transcription, or draft summarisation. Every article is written, edited and fact-checked by a human member of our editorial team who is responsible for its content. We do not publish unreviewed AI-generated text, and we do not use AI to fabricate quotes or invent facts.

9. Images and copyright

We credit the source of every image. Licensed images carry the agency name in the caption; press stills carry the studio/distributor credit. Content used under fair dealing is clearly indicated. Rights-holders who believe we have used material incorrectly should email info@cuttingsfg.com for a rapid review.

10. Diversity and sensitivity

We aim for coverage that reflects the full diversity of the entertainment industry and its audience. We use the name, pronouns and identity language a subject uses about themselves. Coverage of sensitive topics (mental health, addiction, violence, bereavement) follows established best practice and, where appropriate, includes helpline signposting.

11. Comments and community

Where comment sections are enabled, they are moderated. We remove personal attacks, hate speech, spam and content that breaks the law. We do not use user comments as sources without independent verification.

12. Contact and complaints

Editorial complaints and corrections: info@cuttingsfg.com. We aim to acknowledge within two business days. Full contact details, including PR and partnership enquiries, are on our Contact page.
