Ahead of Sept. 17 Netflix premiere, Stranger Things: Tales of ’85’ season 2 trailer arrives

The new trailer wastes no time getting weird. It opens in a dark, mist-soaked forest as glowing red eyes blink to life in the trees. Dustin pipes up about the Hawkins Investigators Club being the town’s best defense, but those good vibes don’t last. Swirling, blue energy and eerie glowing flowers signal something new and nastier bleeding in from the Upside Down.

From there, it’s jump scares and dread: the kids face ghostly figures inside a creaking wooden barn, only to realize these “apparitions” have telltale alternate-dimension traits. The biggest gut punch comes when Eleven strains and her powers flatline. The footage crescendos in a vine-choked crystal cavern where a hulking, blue-lit monster—tentacles, blazing eyes, the works—roars back.

Valentine’s Day goes sideways

Season 2 of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 sends Hawkins into chaos on Valentine’s Day, with “hate sprites” and ghostly visitations turning sweet plans sour, according to Netflix Tudum. The gang’s race this time: stop a fresh tear to an unexplored realm before it fully opens—one that may be tied to a part of town we haven’t seen on screen.
