Prime Video’s Next Must-Watch Comic Book Series Just Locked Its Cast — And It’s Stacked
Invincible, Fallout, and The Boys have set the bar high on Prime Video — and with one of them ending this season, the streamer is teeing up what could be its next comic-book juggernaut.
Prime Video has been on a roll with comics-to-TV hits like 'Invincible', 'Fallout ', and 'The Boys' — and with one of those wrapping up this season, the streamer clearly wants its next big swing ready to go. Enter 'Sex Criminals', an adaptation fans have been waiting on for years, which just locked in its leads. Good news: the casting makes a lot of sense.
Who is starring
According to Deadline, Imogen Poots ('The Chronology of Water') and John Reynolds ('Seekers of Infinite Love') will headline the series as Suze and Jon. If you know the comic, you can probably already picture both of them in these roles. It fits.
What 'Sex Criminals' is about (and yes, the title is literal)
Based on the Image Comics series by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky — with work on the comic also credited to Becka Kinzie, Thomas K, and Drew Gill — the story follows Suze, who discovers she can stop time, but only when she is having sex. She uses that frozen bubble as a breather from the rest of her messy life... until she meets Jon and learns he can do the exact same thing. From there, they decide to put their very specific ability to use by robbing banks. Naturally, maintaining normal lives while planning time-freezing heists that require them to have sex right before or even during a job gets complicated fast.

Why this could hit big
The comic is beloved, the premise is one-of-a-kind, and the heist mechanics are both absurd and clever — they literally have to trigger their power to pull off a plan. That tension is built right into every episode. With one of Prime Video's flagship franchises bowing out this season, this is exactly the kind of audacious, high-concept series that could slide into the spotlight. Casting Poots and Reynolds only helps the case.
Bottom line: no dates yet, but 'Sex Criminals' is moving, the leads are set, and the potential here is huge.
