Canceled? Prime Video’s Spider-Noir just walked away with five Emmys

Days after Prime Video and MGM+ pulled the plug on its eight-episode first season, Spider- Noir walked into the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys and walked out with five trophies, all on the craft side.

Built as a rain-soaked, black-and-white pulp set in the 1930s, the show leaned hard into mood and period detail: jazz joints, cigarette haze, and a trench-coated detective named Ben Reilly. Nicolas Cage played the weary antihero, haunted by the loss of his wife — a choice that put more weight than usual on cinematography, sound, design and stunts to sell the world.

Before the cancellation news, the series headed into Emmy weekend with 11 nominations, the most for any Prime Video title. It also carried a 92% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and amassed 2.6 billion U.S. viewing minutes in its first six weeks, according to Nielsen data cited by multiple outlets.

David Harbour ’s milestone

David Harbour picked up his first Emmy, winning Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the Max series DTF St. Louis. The honor follows two previous nominations for Stranger Things.

Harbour executive produced DTF St. Louis with creator Steven Conrad and plays Floyd Smernitch, a vulnerable man at the center of a love triangle that spirals into a murder mystery. The limited series entered the Emmys with 13 nominations spanning writing, directing and multiple technical categories.

Next up for Harbour: he’s set to portray Major Trautman in John Rambo, a prequel film starring Noah Centineo as a young Rambo.
