Millie Bobby Brown dives into the FIFA frenzy, backing her favorite team in a blink-and-you-miss-it Instagram Story.

World Cup fever has spilled way past the pitch and into everyone’s feeds, and yes, that includes Millie Bobby Brown. Ahead of England’s quarter-final, the Stranger Things and Enola Holmes star hopped on Instagram to back her national team — while her new Netflix threequel keeps racking up views with some very mixed signals.

Where the tournament sits right now

The FIFA World Cup is down to the wire. France and Spain have already punched their tickets to the semis. Two spots are still up for grabs between Norway, England, Argentina, and Switzerland. It ’s tense, it’s messy, and it’s got celebrities picking sides out loud.

Millie’s IG show of support for England

On Saturday, just before England’s quarter-final against Norway, Millie posted an Instagram story repping her team. She was wearing Boggi Milano’s FIFA World Cup 2026 winners graphic polo — the one that nods to England’s football heritage — and leaned into the accessories:

Disney ’s Baggu Nylon Bowler Bag with Embroidered Mickey Mouse Club, a Cartier Panthere de Cartier watch, and her cushion cut diamond engagement ring. Subtle? Not really. On brand? Absolutely.

This isn’t a one-off

She’s been vocal about England for a while. Back on June 25, while doing promo for Enola Holmes 3 with the cast, she publicly backed the team again. And last year she showed up for England’s Women’s squad at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final. In short: not a bandwagon fan.

Meanwhile, about Enola Holmes 3 on Netflix

Enola Holmes 3 debuted July 1 and had a strong opening by normal streaming standards. During the June 29–July 5 window, it hit No. 1 on Netflix’s global English-language film chart with 20.7 million views and 37.3 million hours watched in its first five days.

Here’s the catch, and it’s a nerdy stats thing: Netflix used to report performance in hours watched only, and now it also shares views. So to compare apples to apples with Enola Holmes 2 (which debuted in 2022), we look at hours per day. EH2 did 64.08 million hours in its first three days — roughly 21.4 million hours per day. EH3’s first five days average out to about 7.5 million hours per day. That’s a sizable step down from the last movie, even if this one still topped the chart out of the gate.

Critically, the third film is also the lowest-rated entry in the franchise on Rotten Tomatoes so far. That doesn’t mean the series is cooked, but between softer engagement (versus its own past) and the cooler reviews, it suggests the magic might be slipping a bit.

Bottom line

Millie’s got two storylines running at once: she’s front-and-center cheering England as they chase a semifinal spot, and she’s headlining a Netflix hit that’s winning the week but not quite keeping pace with its own legacy. For now, her attention seems firmly on the Three Lions. Can’t blame her.
