5 Supernatural Stars Who Should Join The Boys Next — And The Perfect Roles For Them
After years of winks, Eric Kripke is going full crossover: The Boys Season 5 corrals Supernatural alums Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins for a bloody reunion on Prime Video.
The Boys keeps raiding Eric Kripke's Supernatural bench, and honestly, why stop now? Season 5 served up the big one: Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins back together on Prime Video — only this time as new, objectively worse people. Kripke even dropped a cheeky 'Supernatural cut' of the scene that flips them into their old roles in a totally different setting. Deep-cut wink achieved.
Kripke clearly likes working with folks he trusts. Beyond the OG trio, the show has already brought in Supernatural alums like Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jim Beaver, and Rob Benedict. And even with the main series down to two episodes left, the universe is hardly closing up shop. Ackles' Soldier Boy spinoff, Vought Rising, is on the way, The Boys: Mexico is in the pipeline, and it would be shocking if those were the last expansions.
Five Supernatural actors who should be next in The Boys-verse (plus one already booked)
-
Mark Sheppard — played Crowley on Supernatural
How this guy hasn't popped up yet is a mystery. Sheppard made Crowley a scene-stealing menace with razor-edged comic timing, exactly the tone The Boys thrives on. He can pivot from sinister to smirking in a heartbeat, and he already has tried-and-true chemistry with Ackles. Drop him into Vought Rising opposite Soldier Boy and let him run the table.
-
Genevieve Padalecki — played Ruby
Jared Padalecki's cameo as Mister Marathon was a Season 5 highlight, and yes, there is a path to bring him back. If that happens, why not make it a twofer? Genevieve's Ruby was morally complicated in all the right ways, and The Boys loves that space. She hasn't been as active lately — her last on-screen credit was Walker in 2024 — but a sharp, meta-tinged appearance that winks at the Sam/Ruby dynamic would land.
-
Richard Speight Jr. — played Gabriel
From his first trickster episode in Supernatural Season 2, Speight showed he can nail comedy, meta, and mischief — otherwise known as The Boys starter kit. He could crush a sly supporting role or anchor something bigger. Frankly, it's surprising he hasn't appeared already. With Vought Rising ramping up, the door is wide open.
-
Mark Pellegrino — played Lucifer
This one's not a wish; it's happening. Pellegrino is already confirmed for The Boys universe, with Deadline reporting back in October that he's in the cast of Vought Rising. His role is still under wraps, but between his intimidating presence and knack for dry humor, he'll fit right in. Also on the table: a mini Supernatural reunion with Ackles. Yes, please.
-
Daneel Ackles — played Sister Jo
Jensen Ackles headlining Vought Rising makes this an easy layup. Daneel's Sister Jo showed up across Supernatural Seasons 13–15, and even a quick cameo would be a fun nod. She's busy working on the upcoming One Tree Hill reboot, but a pop-in is doable. And for what it's worth, Jensen told Entertainment Tonight she might be able to talk him into appearing in that One Tree Hill follow-up — nothing set yet, but the mutual leverage is right there.
Where this could all happen next
Even as The Boys main run winds down, there are plenty of playgrounds for more reunions: Vought Rising is imminent, The Boys: Mexico offers another lane, and Prime Video seems happy to keep the franchise humming. If Kripke wants to keep calling up Supernatural vets, the bench is deep.
