Zombieland: Double Tap, the acclaimed zombie comedy sequel, is now streaming on Prime Video. Reunite with your favorite survivors as they face off against a new breed of undead in this action-packed follow-up.

Fans of undead chaos and sharp-witted survivors have a new reason to celebrate. The much-loved sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap, has officially landed on Prime Video as of January 1, 2026. This follow-up to the original cult classic brings back the core group of survivors, who once again find themselves navigating a world overrun by the living dead—only this time, the zombies have gotten a whole lot smarter.

Returning Cast and New Faces

Released a decade after the first film, Zombieland: Double Tap reunites Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. The chemistry between these four is as sharp as ever, and they’re joined by newcomers Zoey Deutch, Rosario Dawson, Luke Wilson, and the ever-memorable Bill Murray. The original movie followed the group’s wild journey to Pacific Playland, a supposed safe haven that turned out to be anything but. Ten years later, the survivors are still sticking together, proving their resilience in a world that refuses to cut them a break.

Smarter Zombies, Bigger Challenges

This time around, the stakes are higher. The group leaves the safety of the White House and heads for Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Along the way, they cross paths with other post-apocalyptic fighters and stumble upon a commune of survivors. The official synopsis sums it up:

"Zombie slayers Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock leave the confines of the White House to travel to Graceland in Memphis, Tenn. Along the way, they encounter other post-apocalyptic warriors and a group of survivors who find refuge in a commune. The scrappy fighters must now rely on their wits and weapons more than ever as they soon find themselves in a relentless battle against smarter, faster, and seemingly indestructible zombies."

With one of their own missing, the team faces off against a new breed of undead that’s faster, tougher, and more cunning than ever before. The action is relentless, and the laughs are just as quick as the zombies themselves.

Box Office Success and Hints at a Third Film

While many sequels struggle to live up to their predecessors, Zombieland: Double Tap managed to carve out its own success. The film earned a 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with audiences giving it an even more impressive 88%. At the box office, it pulled in $122 million worldwide on a $42 million budget, making it a solid win for Sony Pictures. Fans have been clamoring for more ever since.

There’s even hope for another chapter. During the press tour for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, director Ruben Fleischer shared,

"I'm hoping that we'll do a Zombieland 3 in 2029,"

adding,

"We're starting to talk about that because [the first] one was 2009, and then we did the second one in 2019, and we kind of left that one all saying, 'We'll see you in 10 years.' That's coming up now, and so we're starting to figure that out, so I'm hoping that'll come together."

While there’s no official word from Sony Pictures yet, Fleischer’s comments have sparked plenty of excitement among longtime fans.
