Whitney Leavitt Exits Mormon Wives—Reveals Decision at Her Final Chicago Show
Whitney Leavitt is out at The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives—she revealed the exit during her final Broadway performance of Chicago on Sunday, and multiple outlets have confirmed the Hulu reality shake-up.
Whitney Leavitt just said goodbye to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives — and she did it from a Broadway stage. Here is how it went down, what she is doing next, and where this leaves Hulu 's most chaotic Utah export.
She broke the news during her final 'Chicago' curtain call
On Sunday, May 3, during her last performance as Roxie Hart in Broadway's Chicago, Leavitt, 32, told the audience she is leaving the Hulu reality series. Trade outlets quickly backed it up, with confirmations rolling in later that day.
One day earlier, she posted a curtain-call style Instagram video ahead of closing night — all emotion, no mention of the show she was about to exit:
"Closing night is tomorrow and I’m just feeling a roller coaster of emotions right now 😭. Never let anyone convince you your dream is impossible. Do the work to make it happen ✨I love you guys sm! Thank you for everything!!!! xx- Roxie Hart 💋✨."
Leavitt has been a full-time cast member since the series launched on Hulu in September 2024, tracking a circle of Mormon mom influencers whose lives blew up after a very public cheating scandal.
The show's rough stretch is not slowing down
Leavitt's exit lands while the production is already under a cloud. A police investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident involving Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex Dakota Mortensen halted filming for a time. On April 14, it was confirmed Paul, 31, will not face charges.
Executive producer Jeff Jenkins, 58, addressed chatter that Paul might also be out for season 5 during Deadline's Reality TV Summit on Friday, May 1, and kept the door open — with one caveat:
"I certainly hope she will film with the other women. Again, first and foremost, is she healthy of body and mind, then we’ll talk about it."
And if you are wondering whether cameras resume at all, Miranda McWhorter's ex-husband, Chase McWhorter, 30, told Harry Jowsey's 'Boyfriend Material' podcast on April 7 that the future is "up in the air." He hopes the show comes back because he thinks the other women still have untold storylines.
Whitney's path: from influencer TV to Broadway and beyond
Leavitt made her Broadway debut in February after news broke in December 2025 that she was jumping from reality TV to the Chicago stage. Before that, she finished sixth on season 34 of Dancing With the Stars — not a small pivot by any measure.
Next up: she is set to both star in and executive produce a holiday rom-com for Ninth House Productions later this year. So, she is not stepping offscreen so much as changing lanes.
