Unfollowed, Then Texted: Anna Delvey Reaches Out to DWTS Pro Ezra Sosa
Dancing With the Stars pro Ezra Sosa drops to his knees on TikTok after a long-awaited text from former partner Anna Delvey, hinting their post-unfollow freeze may be thawing.
Ezra Sosa and Anna Delvey are apparently calling a truce. Or at least texting again. After a season of awkward shade and unfollows, the Dancing With the Stars pro says the cold war with his former partner might be thawing.
Where things stand now
On Saturday, April 18, Sosa, 25, posted a TikTok with the on-screen text: "POV: Anna Delvey finally texted you back after getting unfollowed." In the clip, he gasps, drops to his knees like he just got news from the gods, and flashes what look like text messages from Delvey, 35. He captioned it "WAR IS OVER" and tagged her. Subtle? No. Effective? Also no. But very on brand for how this saga has played out.
How we got here
Sosa and Delvey were paired on DWTS season 33, which was his first season as a pro. It did not go great. They were the first couple eliminated, and Delvey famously said she was taking "nothing" from the experience. Sosa later got that exact word inked on his shoulder. Make of that what you will.
Before season 34, he made it pretty clear he wanted a different kind of partner the next time around, joking in an interview that he was looking to avoid anyone with a rap sheet. For context: Delvey was convicted of grand larceny in 2019, served two years, got out in 2022, and remained on house arrest until 2025.
"I will tell you who is not on my mind, and it is anyone with a convicted felony."
He also cracked that if he was paired with another felon, he might officially have a niche. Not exactly subtle, but the man commits to a bit.
Season 34, the shade, and the results
Sosa ended up partnered with Olympian Jordan Chiles for season 34, and he wasted no time twisting the knife. He posted an Instagram video of them rehearsing with the caption "War is over" and on-screen text: "POV: I actually have a shot this year." Translation: that was a Delvey jab.
Chiles, for her part, was thrilled to be teamed with him and said she wanted to give him a much better run this time — let him show who he is, match his energy, all that good teammate stuff. And it worked. They made it all the way to the finale and finished third, behind runner-up Alix Earle and winner Robert Irwin.
After the finale, Sosa posted a long thank-you to Chiles, crediting her for giving him confidence, space to grow, and a partnership that changed him for the better. It was heartfelt and refreshingly earnest, especially compared to the trolling he had going elsewhere.
The unfollow, then the text
Somewhere in the middle of all that, Sosa shared on Snapchat that Delvey had unfollowed him — he posted a pic with his hand over his mouth like he’d seen a ghost. Which brings us back to now: she apparently texted him, he declared "WAR IS OVER" (again), and here we are.
Quick recap of the beats
- Season 33: Sosa’s first year as a DWTS pro; he’s paired with Anna Delvey. They’re eliminated first.
- Afterward: Delvey says she’s taking "nothing" from the show; Sosa gets "nothing" tattooed on his shoulder.
- Pre–Season 34 (2025): Sosa jokes he wants a partner who is not a convicted felon; cracks that if he gets one again, he’s found his niche.
- Season 34 (2025): He partners with Olympian Jordan Chiles; posts "POV: I actually have a shot this year" and captions it "War is over."
- Social fallout: Sosa says on Snapchat that Delvey unfollowed him.
- Finale: Sosa and Chiles finish third, behind Alix Earle (runner-up) and Robert Irwin (winner). He posts a long, grateful message to Chiles.
- Now (April 18, 2026 ): Sosa says Delvey texted him; he shares a TikTok, shows apparent messages, and declares "WAR IS OVER" once more.
So is the war actually over? Hard to say. But if nothing else, the saga has delivered premium reality-TV-adjacent drama, a shoulder tattoo with a punchline, and more than one ceasefire declaration. For DWTS, that’s practically a story arc.
