Prime Video’s Batman: Caped Crusader swoops back in July with a stacked rogues gallery: IGN debuts first-look images of Joker, Edward Nygma/Riddler, Scarecrow, and a gender-swapped Mad Hatter, paying off the season one finale tease and promising a darker Gotham return.

Prime Video is bringing Batman: Caped Crusader back in July, and we just got our first real peek at who is stepping into Gotham this time. Short version: the villains are coming in hot, and the show is not afraid to tweak the classics.

New faces, new spins

IGN dropped an exclusive batch of Season 2 images and confirmations. Here is what they showed off and what it means:

  • Joker: The first season ended by teasing him, and now we finally see the Clown Prince taking center stage in Season 2.
  • Edward Nygma/The Riddler: Suit up for a very classic Gotham headache. He is part of the new wave of rogues getting the spotlight.
  • Scarecrow: Fear gas back in circulation. No surprise, but always fun to see how each show redesigns him.
  • Mad Hatter, gender-swapped: Yep, that is a twist. The character is reimagined as a woman here, which should make for a fresh (and probably unsettling) spin on mind control in Gotham.
  • Roxy Rocket: IGN also confirms she is in Season 2. If your brain read that as Roxy Rockets, you are not alone, but the character is Roxy Rocket, singular.
  • Carrie Kelley: We also get a first look at this Robin, created by Frank Miller and introduced in 1986's The Dark Knight Returns. Seeing her show up in this continuity is a cool pull from the longbox.

When and where

Season 2 lands on Prime Video in July. No exact day yet, but the window is locked.

Want the images?

IGN has the exclusive first-look shots for all of the above, including Joker and the gender-flipped Mad Hatter, plus Carrie Kelley suited up. If you want to go frame-by-frame on the designs, that is where to do it.

This is a developing story, so expect more details soon as Prime Video ramps up the rollout.
