Inside Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker’s Heartwarming Celebration of Son Forrest’s First Communion
Jessie James Decker beams as son Forrest receives his First Communion, a joyful, faith-filled milestone the proud mom celebrated in a Sunday Instagram post.
Big weekend for First Communions in celeb-land. A few familiar faces shared proud-family updates, led by Jessie James Decker, who had one very happy 8-year-old in a suit and tie. If you grew up Catholic, you know the vibe. If you didn’t, we’ll get you up to speed.
Jessie James Decker celebrates Forrest’s big day
On Sunday, May 3, Jessie James Decker posted that her son Forrest received his First Communion, calling it a beautiful, special day and saying their hearts were full. The 38-year-old singer and Kittenish founder shared family photos with husband Eric Decker and their four kids: Vivianne, 12, Eric Jr., 10, Forrest, 8, and Denver, 6. She also dropped a quick Instagram Story after the ceremony, proud-mom energy fully engaged.
The pics show Forrest in church as he prepared to receive the Body of Christ for the first time. Quick explainer: when Catholics talk about the Body of Christ in this context, they mean the Holy Eucharist, which they believe becomes the literal body and blood of Jesus Christ during Mass.

Quick refresher: what First Communion is
For Catholics, First Communion is the ceremony where children receive the Eucharist for the first time. It’s a core sacrament, usually happening around ages 7 or 8, and it doubles as a big family-and-friends celebration of the kid’s faith.
A message for the kids who just took that step
A recent papal message to young people framed it like this:
"Jesus calls you to be witnesses of communion, builders of bridges and sowers of trust in a world often marked by division and suspicion. Do not be afraid, then, to show that you are Christians, to live the Gospel with enthusiasm and to share the joy that springs from encountering the Lord. Always remember the following words, and be courageous in bringing their meaning to others: 'In every situation of our life, we will experience that we are never alone, for as children we are always loved, forgiven and encouraged by God.'"
