Golden Life Trailer Debuts: OG RHONY Legends Launch Their Next Act
They’re back and ready to brawl: E! drops the first Golden Life teaser, reuniting OG Real Housewives of New York City Dorinda Medley, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and Kelly Bensimon for a glitzy, drama-packed second act.
RHONY Originals in Florida? Sure. Quieter? Absolutely not. E! just dropped the first teaser for 'Golden Life' on Monday, May 4, and the New York legends have traded winter coats for palm trees without giving up the chaos that made them stars in the first place.
The setup
The show follows a handful of the OG Real Housewives of New York City as they decamp to Florida in search of a supposedly calmer, more 'zen' chapter. The teaser even opens with a tongue-in-cheek letter to their friends back in Manhattan about slowing down and not stirring the pot. Cut to: shouting, shade, cocktails, and someone discussing a near-miss with a burp. So, business as usual — just with more SPF.
Who is back — and what the teaser shows
- Dorinda Medley, 61: Says she has been keeping quiet and living at a slower tempo. The footage immediately disagrees.
- Sonja Morgan, 62: Declares she does not stir things up anymore, then proceeds to, well, stir. Also delivers a TMI moment about a burp that turned into a little more and asks if it is detectable on her breath.
- Luann de Lesseps, 60: Finds herself on the receiving end of a very loud accusation spree and generally looks unbothered. Florida suits her; she looks like she is thriving.
- Ramona Singer, 69: Has not retired turtle time. At all. Repeatedly yells at Luann about lying, then cheerfully explains how nice it has been meeting people her own age.
- Kelly Bensimon, 58: Tries to keep things civil, tells Sonja to knock off the name-calling, and gets a snappy mocktail-and-shut-up comeback for her trouble.
There is also a blink-and-you-miss-it beat where Sonja is chatting up a much younger guy and admits dating early-20s energy is exhausting because she has to teach him, well, everything.
'Consider this your invitation'
No exact date yet, but 'Golden Life' is set to premiere on E! this fall.
The casting hiccup
When the show was first announced back in February, Jill Zarin was part of the plan. That changed fast. After she posted a video reacting to Bad Bunny's Super Bowl LX halftime show — saying she could not understand the Spanish-language lyrics, describing the performance as a political statement because she saw no white performers, bringing up ICE, and calling the NFL sellouts — producers confirmed to Us Weekly a few days later that she was out. Jill told In Touch on February 10 that she took the video down quickly and felt she was not given a chance, adding that people make mistakes and she is human.
Bottom line: the OGs packed up the drama and shipped it to Florida. If the teaser is any indication, 'Golden Life' is RHONY energy with better weather and zero chill.
