Embark CEO Patrick Söderlund shares that Arc Raiders has drawn significant interest from Hollywood, but stresses that any adaptation must be handled with care. No projects are in motion yet, but the IP’s cinematic potential is clear.

Embark Studios’ CEO Patrick Söderlund has revealed that Arc Raiders, the studio’s breakout extraction shooter, has caught the eye of numerous film and television producers. Since its October 2025 debut, the game has sold an estimated 12 million copies and seen player numbers soar past 3 million at peak times. This success has naturally sparked a wave of interest from entertainment companies eager to adapt the property for the screen.

During a recent conversation with GamesBeat, Söderlund shared just how much attention Arc Raiders has received from Hollywood.

“I can’t tell you how many companies have reached out to us wanting to make a TV series [ or] movie out of this IP. So many,”

he said.

“We don’t mind doing that, it will be fun, but it needs to be done in the right way. I mean, I hope that we will do that. I think the IP fits quite well with something like that.”

Hollywood Interest, But No Green Light Yet

Despite the flood of offers, Söderlund made it clear that Embark is not rushing into any deals.

“We don’t have anyone working on a TV or film adaptation yet.”

The studio is holding out for the right creative vision, determined to ensure that any adaptation lives up to the game’s reputation and fan expectations.

Arc Raiders’ blend of sci-fi action and immersive storytelling has made it a natural candidate for a cinematic or episodic treatment. Still, Söderlund’s comments suggest that Embark is prioritizing quality over speed, waiting for a partnership that aligns with their vision for the franchise.

Video Game Adaptations on the Rise

Fallout ’s second season is set to premiere on Prime Video, and Return to Silent Hill is scheduled to hit theaters on January 26, 2026.
