May is days away, and the streamers are reloading. A fresh wave of movies and series is about to land—from buzzy premieres to comfort-show returns—so get your watchlist ready.

May is basically here, which means a fresh pile of stuff is about to hit Prime Video. Netflix and Peacock already flashed their May cards; now it is Amazon 's turn. Short version: there is a big day-one dump of movies, some solid comfort-watch picks, and a few eyebrow-raisers on the schedule that I need to call out.

The quick take

As usual, May 1 is the firehose. If you are in a nostalgia mood, 'All Dogs Go to Heaven' and 'The Little Rascals' arrive right out of the gate. There is also a very respectable stack of heavy hitters and crowd-pleasers like 'GoodFellas ', 'Do the Right Thing', 'Some Like It Hot', 'Scarface', 'Hot Fuzz', and 'Mamma Mia! '. On the newer side, things like 'Despicable Me 4', 'Retribution', 'Blink Twice', 'Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1', and 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' pop up across the month.

And if you are a Marvel person, Prime is touting 'Spider- Noir' for May 27. Which brings me to...

About those odd listings

You are not imagining it: several entries on Amazon's sheet show years like 2026 and 2025 in parentheses but are still slotted into May dates. Examples: 'No Place to Be Singel (2026)', 'Off Campus (2026)', 'It's Not Like That (2026)', 'Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War (2026)', 'The Double (2026)', 'Spider-Noir (2026)', and 'One Battle After Another (2025)'. That is... unusual. I am listing everything exactly as provided, but consider those future- year items highly tentative until Amazon clarifies what is actually going live versus what might be mislabeled, dated ahead, or just placeholder info.
