Teenage Dream video costar Josh Kloss alleges Katy Perry pulled down his pants and exposed him at a 2012 party, a moment he says left him with silent trauma, he told Page Six.

Katy Perry is back in the headlines, and none of it is the fun kind. Two different people — model/actor Josh Kloss and actor Ruby Rose — have alleged sexual misconduct in separate incidents years apart. One case is newly resurfacing, one is now with police. Here is what each person says happened, what Perry’s side has said, and how the timelines actually line up.

Josh Kloss says a 2012 party with Perry left him humiliated

Kloss, 45, who played Perry’s love interest in her 2010 Teenage Dream video, gave a new interview to Page Six published Friday, April 24, where he revisited a story he first shared in 2019. He says that in 2012, outside a birthday party for one of Perry’s associates, she yanked down his pants and underwear in front of others — exposing him to the crowd — and laughed while he panicked.

According to Kloss, he and Perry had gotten along during the music video shoot. Two years later, he says he turned up at that party, greeted her outside with a friend, and that is when the alleged incident happened. He says he snapped at her in the moment and then, despite being furious, went to an after-party at the urging of one of her friends who told him Perry wanted to talk. They briefly crossed paths there, but, as Kloss tells it, their friends pulled them in different directions and the conversation never happened.

Kloss says he carried what he calls ‘silent trauma ’ for years, finally posting about it on Instagram in August 2019. The reaction was rough: he recalls fans telling him he should feel “fortunate” or “lucky.” His response now: he felt devalued and degraded in front of Perry’s peers — why would he be grateful for that? He says he expected an apology that never came.

Perry has not directly addressed Kloss’s story. In a 2020 Guardian interview, without naming him, she said we live in a time when anyone can say anything and that she tries not to spend her life batting down every claim because it is distracting. Kloss, meanwhile, says people in Perry’s orbit accused him of making it up and calling him “obsessed.” He adds that while he does not label himself a victim, he recognizes that victims often are not believed — and that part of the reaction has been the hardest. A rep for Perry was asked for comment on Kloss’s new interview.

Ruby Rose’s separate 2010 allegation is now with Melbourne police

On April 11, Ruby Rose publicly accused Perry of sexually assaulting her at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne in 2010. Rose said she once told the story as a goofy party anecdote because she did not know how else to process it, and that she later stayed quiet after Perry allegedly offered to help with her U.S. visa.

When another Threads user joked about Perry’s 2008 hit I Kissed a Girl, Rose pushed back, saying it was not a kiss — she described Perry allegedly moving her underwear aside and rubbing her genitals on Rose’s face while Rose was resting on a friend’s lap, which made Rose jolt awake and vomit on her.

Perry’s team denied Rose’s claim in a statement on April 13:

“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

Rose initially said she was not interested in filing a formal report. The next day, April 14, she told followers she had finalized her reports and would not be commenting further.

  • April 11: Rose posts her allegation about a 2010 incident at Spice Market in Melbourne.
  • April 13: Perry’s spokesperson issues a categorical denial and calls the claims dangerous lies.
  • April 14: Rose says she has completed her reports and will not discuss the case publicly anymore.
  • April 15: Victoria Police confirm that SOCIT detectives are investigating a historical sexual assault reported to have taken place in 2010 at a licensed venue in Melbourne’s CBD.

Where things stand now

Perry has stayed mostly quiet as the Melbourne investigation proceeds, though she thanked fans for their support in mid-April. For Kloss’s allegation, there is no new comment from Perry beyond her broader 2020 stance about not responding to every claim.

Two different stories, two different timelines, both serious — and, in Rose’s case, now officially in the hands of police.
