How old is Oona in Sterling Point? The show only puts a number on her 12-year-old sister — the rest takes working out
How old is Oona in Sterling Point? Prime Video's hit drama confirms surprisingly few character ages, and Oona's takes actual deduction — here's what the show establishes and what it only implies.
Sterling Point is precise about some characters' ages and completely silent on others, and Oona lands in the second group. The good news: the show leaves enough clues that you can pin her down within a year.
The working answer is that Oona is about 17, possibly 18, during season 1. Prime Video 's series — created by Megan Park and streaming since August 5, 2026 — never states her age in dialogue. What episode 1 does confirm, via Oona herself, is that her younger sister Maple is 12. That's the only hard number the show ever attaches to her family.
The evidence for 17
Everything else is triangulation, and it points the same direction:
- Ramona is 17 — and Oona has been her best friend since they were kids, which puts them in the same age cohort.
- Annie and Connor are 17, turning 18 — the twins celebrate their 18th birthday in episode 5, with Oona, Ramona, Maple, and Sully at the party as their peer group, not as older hangers-on.
- The setting is the summer after senior year — the series takes place in the stretch after Annie graduates high school, and Oona moves through it as part of the same just-finished-school crowd.
The only stated age in Oona's family is Maple's: 12. Everything about Oona herself is inference — but it's consistent inference.
Compare that with Ellis, the other unconfirmed age in the group: he works as a seaplane pilot, and a commercial license in Canada requires being at least 18, so the show quietly ages him up through his job. Oona gets no such occupational tell. She gets a biography instead.

The character the show actually gives you
What Sterling Point offers in place of a number is texture. Oona was born in Amsterdam, raised in Rome, Paris, and London, and eventually settled with her family on a boat in Ontario — the free-spirited counterweight to Annie's buttoned-up New York upbringing. Maple, meanwhile, is a 12-year-old who devours self-help books, which is either a joke or a warning depending on your household.
Oona's résumé by 17: four countries, three capitals, one houseboat. Annie's: New York.
The actress is a different story
Bo Bragason, who plays Oona, was born March 27, 2004, making her 22 during season 1 — roughly five years older than her character, which is standard practice for teen dramas. The gap runs wider elsewhere in the cast: Ella Rubin (Annie) is 24, Keen Ruffalo (Connor, and yes, Mark Ruffalo 's son) is 25, and Amélie Hoeferle (Ramona) is 24.

Bragason is also the cast member with the biggest year ahead. The English actress, previously seen in Renegade Nell, The Jetty, and King & Conqueror, has been cast as Princess Zelda in the live-action Legend of Zelda movie. Sterling Point caught her right before that particular rocket launches.
So: Oona is 17 by every measure the show provides, played by a 22-year-old who's about to be considerably more famous. The series just never felt like saying the first part out loud.
