Game of Thrones fans are stunned to discover that Joffrey not only spoiled the House of the Dragon finale, but also let slip major secrets from HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, adapted from George R.R. Martin’s The Hedge Knight.

Years after viewers first noticed that Joffrey Baratheon had let slip the ending of House of the Dragon, fans are now realizing he also dropped some major spoilers for HBO ’s latest hit, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The new series, based on George R.R. Martin’s novella The Hedge Knight, follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his unlikely squire, Egg. But because the events of this show take place long before the original Game of Thrones, some characters in the main series already know how things will turn out for Dunk and Egg.

Joffrey’s knack for revealing too much comes into play in the very first episode of Game of Thrones season 4. As he flips through the White Book—a record of the Kingsguard’s greatest deeds—he stumbles upon a lengthy entry for Ser Duncan the Tall.

“Four pages for Ser Duncan. He must have been quite the man,”

Joffrey remarks, prompting Jaime Lannister to respond,

“So they say.”

While this exchange might seem harmless, it actually confirms that Dunk will eventually join the Kingsguard and accomplish enough to earn a significant place in its history. For those paying close attention, it also hints at the future of his squire, Egg, whose true identity is a key part of the story’s unfolding drama.

Joffrey’s Spoilers Go Beyond House of the Dragon

Joffrey’s habit of dropping spoilers doesn’t stop there. In the same scene where he reveals the outcome of the Dance of the Dragons, he brings up Aerion Targaryen—a character who will appear in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, portrayed by Finn Bennett.

“Over there, in that urn, the ashes of Aerion Targaryen,”

Joffrey tells Margaery Tyrell.

“Aerion Brightflame, they called him. He thought drinking wildfire would turn him into a dragon. He was wrong.”

This chilling anecdote not only foreshadows Aerion’s fate but also ties into the dangerous legacy of wildfire, the same substance Cersei Lannister later uses to destroy the Sept of Baelor, and which the Mad King once threatened to unleash on King’s Landing.

What This Means for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

With these revelations, Joffrey has managed to spoil not just one, but two major HBO series for eagle-eyed fans. As A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms continues to air, viewers can’t help but wonder how closely the show will follow the events hinted at in Game of Thrones. For now, fans can keep up with the latest episodes and reviews, all while piecing together the clues Joffrey left behind years ago.

So, as the TV landscape heats up for 2026, which upcoming series are you most excited to watch? Will you be tuning in for more tales from Westeros, or are you looking forward to new adventures like Wonder Man, Lanterns, Spider- Man: Noir, or VisionQuest?
