From Laguna Beach Star to Lifestyle Mogul: Inside Lauren Conrad’s Life Now
Lauren Conrad has left the drama in the rearview. More than a decade after The Hills, the early-2000s reality star told Laguna Beach alum Kristin Cavallari on the Let’s Be Honest podcast in April 2026 that she doesn’t miss reality TV — she’s happier living a calmer, off-camera life.
Lauren Conrad did the whole reality TV whirlwind, cashed out on the drama, and now she is perfectly content being the most low-key person in Laguna Beach. In April 2026, on Kristin Cavallari's 'Let's Be Honest' podcast, she made it pretty clear she is not itching to go back.
'I don't [miss it]. I'm so happy.'
The quick snapshot

- Home base: Moved back to Laguna Beach in 2017 while pregnant with her first child; keeping life quiet on purpose.

From MTV hallways to the exit door
Conrad's whole thing started with Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County back in 2004, where season 1 literally followed her senior year and she handled the narration. She returned for season 2, which Cavallari narrated, and then spun off into The Hills in 2006. She steered that ship for five seasons before walking away in 2009.
She mostly stayed off TV after that, popping back up in April 2026 for Roku's The Reunion: Laguna Beach as a deliberate farewell. On the podcast with Cavallari, she was blunt about wanting to wrap it up with the same people she started with and be done with on-camera life.
'I don't really do anything anymore and I would love to put a pin in my career on television.'
She has also said that while what we saw on TV was a piece of her, she's more relaxed and way sillier when the cameras are off. And yes, the production machine ruins the fun for her now; in March 2026 she admitted she knows exactly how the sausage gets made, which makes it hard to enjoy reality TV like a normal viewer.
Back in Laguna, on purpose
Conrad moved back to Laguna Beach from Los Angeles in 2017 when she was pregnant with her first son. She describes life there now as quiet and very community-driven: lots of friends with kids the same age, small-town vibes, and a clean break from the old Hollywood hustle.
Married life, kid life
Yes, she once lived in that LC-Kristin-Stephen triangle world, and later dated Jason Wahler on The Hills. Then she met William Tell. They first crossed paths when she was a teenager and saw his band Something Corporate, but they properly reconnected on a blind date for Valentine's Day in 2012. It clicked fast. They married in 2014 and now have two boys: Liam (2017) and Charlie (2019).
Conrad says she and Tell want the same things out of life and jokes he is the better parent. As a mom of two, she spends plenty of time on the sidelines at baseball and soccer, even though the kids are not super into sports. School, though? They're thriving.
The fashion lane, still open
On The Hills, Conrad interned at Teen Vogue while attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. After leaving TV, she actually doubled down on fashion. LC Lauren Conrad launched at Kohl's in 2009 and hit its 17-year mark in 2026. She also created Little Co. by Lauren Conrad at Kohl's, rolled out Lauren Conrad Beauty, and launched a fragrance. Her higher-end label Paper Crown, which she co-founded, wrapped in 2018. On top of that, she has written books, including the novel The Fame Game and the entertaining guide Celebrate.
Old castmates, new chapter
For anyone convinced she and Lo Bosworth fell out after the shows ended, relax. Conrad said in April 2026 that they drifted when Lo moved to New York but reconnected in the last few years, and she is very proud of her. She also told Us Weekly in March 2026 that reconnecting with Cavallari has been great — half their chats are about their kids now. During The Reunion: Laguna Beach press tour, Conrad added that she still keeps up with most of the original cast because, frankly, they grew up together.
40, but make it low maintenance
After turning 40 in February 2026, Conrad kept it transparent about what she does and does not do. Light Botox, no filler. Facial massages. Face wash discipline. Clean-ish eating. Lots of tennis and pilates. And she has cut way down on drinking over the last few years, which she credits with a noticeable boost in how she feels.
Bottom line: Lauren Conrad closed the TV tab, paid the bill, and went home to Laguna. And she is very happy there.
