Bravo is heading to the Texas Hill Country with a newly ordered reality series, working title Secrets, Lies, Texas Wives, unveiled at the NBCU Upfront on May 11. Expect Southern sparkle, big-money glam, and the secrets simmering beneath that picture-perfect veneer.

Bravo is headed back to Texas — not with a Real Housewives of Dallas revival, but with a brand-new reality series about Hill Country wives that sounds glossy on the surface and messy underneath. Announced today at the NBCU Upfronts (Monday, May 11), the working title is 'Secrets, Lies, Texas Wives'.

So, what is this thing?

The show is set in Boerne, a postcard-y town in Texas Hill Country where money, image, faith, and family are basically the local currency. The cast (still under wraps) will be a tight circle of well-connected women juggling families, ranches and farms, and a never-ending social calendar in a community built on rodeos and tradition. And because Bravo is Bravo, the premise leans hard into what sits under that polished exterior: private entanglements and off-limits romances that strain friendships and marriages and threaten the town’s squeaky-clean reputation. Translation: the boots are shiny; the secrets are not.

Important note: no cast yet, no premiere date yet. This is early days — but it is officially ordered.

No, it’s not RHOD season 6

Bravo has done Texas before with The Real Housewives of Dallas, which ran five seasons from 2016 to 2021 with Cary Deuber, Stephanie Hollman, Brandi Redmond, and others in the mix. When fans asked about a comeback, the network put the show on ice instead of killing it outright. As Bravo said back in August 2021:

"There are currently no plans to bring The Real Housewives of Dallas back next year, and beyond that nothing official has been decided."

In other words, RHOD is on indefinite hiatus. And yes, original cast member LeeAnne Locken said in 2024 that she’d jump at the chance to return because she loved doing the show.

Meanwhile, another Texas wives project circled the same lane

After Netflix ’s scripted series The Hunting Wives broke out in July 2025, a different outfit — Ain't That Something Entertainment, working with Spoke Studios — started building a docuseries inspired by that vibe. Their August 2025 casting call pitched a close-knit Southern friend group navigating faith and friendship for a major streaming service, asked for "big personalities, big stories," and floated the working title 'The Real Hunting Wives of the South'. For context, Ain't That Something has helped cast a bunch of reality staples, including The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Orange County, Buying Beverly Hills, Below Deck Adventure, and The Hills: New Beginnings.

Timeline at a glance

  • 2016–2021: The Real Housewives of Dallas airs for five seasons.
  • Aug 2021: Bravo says RHOD isn’t returning the next year and is basically paused indefinitely.
  • 2024: LeeAnne Locken says she’d be game to come back if RHOD ever revived.
  • July 2025: Netflix’s The Hunting Wives hits, then becomes the springboard for a reality concept.
  • Aug 2025: Ain't That Something Entertainment posts a casting call for 'The Real Hunting Wives of the South' with Spoke Studios and a major streamer.
  • Mon, May 11: Bravo orders 'Secrets, Lies, Texas Wives' and announces it at the NBCU Upfronts.

Bottom line

Bravo’s not resurrecting Dallas (at least not yet), but it is planting a fresh flag in Texas with a Boerne-set series about high society, small-town traditions, and the kind of personal drama that does not stay on the ranch. Casting and a release date are still TBD — expect those boots to drop soon.
