The Oval season 5: which cast member died?

Let's get the technicality out of the way: if you googled this because you're worried about the actors, everyone is fine. Nobody from the cast of Tyler Perry's The Oval has died. The characters, however, have been through some things — and one of them got "killed" so hard in the season 5 premiere that the internet held a small funeral, only for the show to shrug and un-kill him an episode later.

Bobby died. For about a week.

In the season 5 premiere, Sam (Walter Fauntleroy) burst into a hotel room and pumped Bobby (Travis Cure) full of bullets — then turned to his wife and delivered the instantly infamous line:

"Bitch, get home and wash my f*****g clothes."

Romance! Blavity reported the death like the rest of us mourned it, then had to append an update when Bobby turned up "very…not dead" at the top of the next episode. A man took multiple rounds to the chest and walked it off. This is The Oval. Cardio is optional; plot armor is not.

The finale that shot everyone and killed no one

The season 5 finale ended with Hunter ordering his mercenaries to open fire on Team Victoria while basically the entire call sheet — Hunter, Victoria, Jason, Donald, Kyle, Eli, Simone, Sam, Max, Bobby, Richard, Priscilla — stood in the blast radius. A Red Wedding, you'd think. Nope. When season 6 arrived, no major characters had met their end. Everybody caught a cliffhanger; nobody caught a bullet with their name on it.

So, the actual scoreboard for season 5:

• Confirmed cast deaths: zero.
• Character deaths that stuck: zero.
• Characters shot on camera: several, all thriving.
• The only true casualty (per TVLine): Richard and Nancy's marriage. RIP.

And if you need proof straight from the source, Travis Cure told Upscale Magazine, "I'm currently filming Season 8 of 'The Oval.'" The man his castmate emptied a clip into is three seasons deep past his own murder. Iconic behavior, honestly.
