Your Discovery+ bill is going up right after the Skydance takeover
Discovery+ is bumping up US prices—what that does to your bill is the number you’re hunting for.
U.S. subscribers to Discovery+ are waking up to higher monthly bills. Effective today, the ad-supported plan rises by $1 to $6.99, while the ad-free tier jumps $2 to $11.99. The timing lands just a week after the Skydance corporate shakeup involving Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, per Variety.
Discovery+ now costs $6.99 with ads and $11.99 ad-free in the U.S., effective today for new subscribers.
How the new prices work
The new rates apply immediately for all new sign-ups starting Tuesday, October 13, 2026 . Existing customers will get a 30-day heads-up; the higher price will appear on billing statements generated on or after November 12, 2026.
Variety reports the increase was likely mapped out before the Skydance deal formally closed, even if it ’s arriving right on the heels of that shakeup.
