Who’s Who in Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 — Full Cast and Character Guide
From Team Avatar to the Fire Nation’s fiercest, Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has locked its lineup for the upcoming season—meet the actors set to ignite the Four Nations.
Netflix did not drag its feet on this one. After Avatar: The Last Airbender rocketed to No. 1 worldwide when the live-action series launched in February 2024, the streamer renewed it almost immediately. Now the almost-two-year wait is basically over: Season 2 lands June 25, and Netflix just rolled out the first trailer to prove it.
Release timing, trailer, poster — the quick hit
The Season 2 trailer dropped today, with a new poster arriving yesterday as the appetizer. The date you want is June 25, 2026, when the next leg of Aang’s journey goes live on Netflix. If you felt the gap after that speedy renewal in 2024, same — the finish line is finally in sight.
Who is playing who in Season 2
Yes, the core Team Avatar is back, and Season 2 is also stuffing in a lot of big newcomers (including some long-anticipated fan favorites). Here’s the roster so you can keep everyone straight:
- Gordon Cormier as Aang — our last Airbender and the Avatar himself. You might have seen him in Get Shorty, Lost in Space, and The Stand.
- Kiawentiio as Katara — the Southern Water Tribe waterbender who finds Aang after a century on ice. Credits include Anne with an E, Rutherford Falls, and Marvel 's What If...?.
- Ian Ousley as Sokka — Katara’s big brother and Southern Water Tribe strategist. Previously in Sorry for Your Loss, Thirteen Reasons Why, Young Sheldon, and Big Shot.
- Dallas Liu as Zuko — the Fire Nation prince who chased Aang through Season 1. The actor has also been associated with Tekken and Mortal Kombat: Legacy.
- Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai — the series’ top-tier villain. You know him from Hulk ( 2003), Spider- Man 2, Star Trek: Enterprise, ER, and 24.
- Elizabeth Yu as Azula — Zuko’s terrifyingly gifted sister and Fire Nation princess. Recent credits: May December, Year One, and Womb.
- Miya Cech as Toph Beifong — debuting in Season 2, the earthbending prodigy fans have been waiting for. You may recognize her from American Horror Story, Arrow, The Astronauts, The Santa Clauses, Surfside Girls, and Beef.
- Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh — Zuko’s tea-loving (and wisdom-dropping) uncle. Also pops up across Star Wars shows like The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka.
- Lily Gao as Ursa — a pivotal Fire Nation figure finally joining the live-action story.
- Terry Chen as Jeong Jeong — the firebending master with serious 'do not waste my time' energy.
- Dolly de Leon as Lo and Li — yes, both of Azula’s twin advisers, in a dual role.
- Madison Hu as Fei — a fresh face for this adaptation.
- Dichen Lachman as Yangchen — the Air Nomad Avatar from a past life.
- Tantoo Cardinal as Hama — arriving in Season 2 with one of the darker Water Tribe stories.
- Jon Jon Briones as Piandao — the master swordsman with immaculate form.
Netflix announced that wave of new casting back in May 2025, and then confirmed the additional Season 2 players (Hama and Piandao) later on. If you saw phrasing about people "returning," that was a bit fuzzy marketing-speak — these characters are appearing in Season 2, not coming back from earlier in the live-action run.
The big picture
Between the now-fully-formed Fire Nation power players, the long-awaited arrival of Toph, and a bench of side characters who matter way more than their screen time, Season 2 looks stacked. The show already proved it can move numbers for Netflix; now it has to prove it can level up the storytelling.
Mark your calendar: Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 hits Netflix on June 25, 2026. Trailer is out now if you want a taste before the binge.
