Each of his roles showcases his comedic genius.

This year's Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga reunited us with George Miller's post-apocalyptic universe and many beloved characters. Among them was the guy known as the Organic Mechanic, the chaotic Citadel doctor from the first film.

He was played by Angus Sampson in both films, and if since Furiosa you've had that nagging feeling that you've seen this face in post-apocalyptic settings before, you're not wrong. In between the two Mad Max movies, the Australian actor made a brief appearance in the ninth season of The Walking Dead.

Remember Ozzy, the pragmatic leader of the Highwaymen who cleared the roads near the Kingdom? He was played by Angus Sampson. Ozzy only appeared in two episodes of Season 9 - Chokepoint and The Calm Before.

He and his teammates were quickly killed by The Whisperers with their decapitated heads displayed on pikes. We guess guarding roads is a dangerous job in the Walking Dead universe, huh?

What else has Angus Sampson played in?

Besides the Mad Max movie series and The Walking Dead, Sampson has been a part of other popular franchises. For example, if you are a horror fan, you must remember Tucker Croft, the wisecracking assistant to Elise Rainier from the Insidious movie series.

He also plays Cisco Wojciechowski in The Lincoln Lawyer, portrayed King George I in Our Flag Means Death, appeared as Bear Gerhardt, the secondary antagonist of Fargo Season 2, and all in all is often cast as that comedic yet complex character that enhances any plot or storyline.

Who does Angus Sampson voice?

In addition to a haunting screen presence, Sampson has a memorable voice that has earned him some notable voice roles. You could hear him in the 2019 miniseries Les Norton as narrator, the animated series Gen: Lock as Brother Tate, and most recently in the 2023 Hulu series Koala Man as, well, almost every wacky character. The actor voices General Peckmeister, Summer Santa, The Kookaburra, Uncle Bumpy, and Wizened Garbage Man. Not a bad range, right?

What is Angus Sampson doing now in 2024

So where else can we expect to see Sampson's comedic genius in the near future? For starters, the second season of the Australian dramedy Heartbreak High, the remake of a popular 1994 TV series, premiered this spring. In his finest comic form, Sampson plays the misogynistic gym teacher Voss.

Of course, Angus Sampson will reprise his role as Cisco Wojciechowski in the third season of The Lincoln Lawyer, which is expected to be released in early 2025. He will also continue to play Dom Chalmers in the Australian comedy-drama Bump. The fifth season is expected to premiere in December this year.

To further diversify his acting resume, Sampson will also star in Renny Harlin's new thriller Deep Water, which tells the chilling story of passengers on a wrecked plane who face off against bloodthirsty sharks.
