Some epic events are getting closer.

The fifth episode ended dramatically, with Pharazon outlawing the Church of the Valar, Kemen killing Valandil, and Elendil behind bars. Meanwhile, Pharazon himself succumbs to the temptation to test Palantir himself.

Episode 6 Starts with Arondir's Adventure and the Stranger's Dream

The sixth episode begins with Arondir fulfilling his promise to the ents by rushing to Eregion. For some reason, he does not know or remember the way, but the orc he killed has a map with him.

In a dream, the Stranger sees that Nori and Poppy are in danger. To defeat the darkness, he needs a staff, and Tom Bombadil sends him into the nearest thicket to search for a suitable stick. Time is running out, but Tom warns that if the Stranger leaves now, he will only ruin everything and will never be able to return to this place.

The Situation in Numenor Grows Increasingly Tense

In Numenor, Ar-Pharazon demands that Elendil renounce his belief in the Elven gods and swear fealty to the new king. Elendil refuses to betray Miriel and is sentenced to death. The elf is to be thrown into the lagoon to be eaten by a giant sea worm.

Miriel begs her faithful servant to reconsider, for he is of far greater use alive, and even hints at her own feelings for him, but Elendil remains adamant. He believes that if the Valar need him, they will find a way to keep him alive.

At the last moment, Miriel volunteers to go to the execution in his place and survives an encounter with an underwater predator. According to Numenorean law, she is found innocent, and the people once again glorify their former ruler. Ar-Pharazon desperately seeks help from Palantir and sees Annatar.

The Ring Continues to Influence King Durin

As the creation of rings for men takes up more and more of Celebrimbor's attention, control of Eregion gradually falls into Annatar's hands. The process is difficult: the forges need more mithril, and the dwarves are late with their new shipments.

Annatar makes his way to Khazad-dum, but King Durin, whose greed grows daily, refuses to see him. Annatar leaves empty-handed. The younger Durin sees the effect the ring has on his father and even tries to remove it by force, but in vain. Disa, however, is more fortunate: she manages to keep the miners from digging any deeper.

Adar Suddenly Changes His Plans

Adar realizes that Halbrand is Sauron and suggests that Galadriel combine the Elven Rings with Morgoth's crown, using the artifacts to get rid of the Dark Lord forever. As Galadriel is about to agree, Adar suddenly decides to destroy the elves of Eregion as well, for they will never leave the orcs alone.

The orc army approaches Eregion. Annatar uses a spell to reassure Celebrimbor that all is well. The smith still needs mithril, and Annatar has managed to get it from somewhere. Celebrimbor returns to his work with renewed vigor.
