Taylor Frankie Paul is naming the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives costars who had her back during her lowest moment — and she marked a Sunday, March 29 Instagram return with a piano-practice clip and a candid note that she kinda likes it.

Taylor Frankie Paul popped back up on Instagram with a piano clip right in the middle of a wildly messy few weeks for Hulu 's Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. And honestly, the replies said almost as much as the video itself.

The piano post, and who actually checked in

On Sunday, March 29, Taylor, 31, shared a video of herself practicing piano and joked that she learned the piece that day and might have a future on the keys. Castmate Demi Engemann chimed in, called it soothing, and nudged her to try 'True Colors' next — which felt like a pointed nod to the very public situation with Taylor's ex, Dakota Mortensen.

Taylor publicly thanked Demi for constantly checking on her and sending a wellness gift, and added that Demi and Jessi Draper never left her side when things were at their lowest. Worth noting: Jessi has her own fire to walk through — her estranged husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, filed for divorce on March 19 — and she recently got emotional on camera about the Taylor video too.

Why the show is paused and the legal mess around it

Hulu pressed pause on Mormon Wives season 5 earlier this month after footage surfaced from Taylor's 2023 arrest tied to a domestic violence incident. For clarity: in 2023, Taylor pleaded guilty to an aggravated assault charge in a deal that led to the other charges being dropped.

Since then, the police paperwork has piled up:

  • 2023: Taylor is arrested; later pleads guilty to aggravated assault, other charges are dropped.
  • February (this year): Draper City Police in Utah confirm an open domestic assault investigation stemming from an alleged incident between Taylor and Dakota. They say there are allegations in both directions and they have contacted the parties.
  • 2024: Dakota, 33, reports a third alleged domestic violence incident involving Taylor to the West Jordan Police Department.
  • Earlier this month: Hulu pauses production on Mormon Wives season 5 after the 2023 arrest video leaks.
  • March 19: ABC decides not to air Taylor's season of The Bachelorette, three days before it was supposed to premiere. On the same day, Jessi Draper's estranged husband files for divorce.
  • March 23: Taylor thanks supporters in a TikTok comment, saying prayers are what kept her standing.
  • March 29: Taylor posts the piano video and publicly shouts out Demi and Jessi for sticking by her.

The leak accusations (and denials)

After that 2023 arrest video hit the internet, some creators tried to pin the leak on castmate Miranda McWhorter because the two have clashed on the show. Miranda, 27, quickly shot that down on Instagram. She said the first time she saw the footage was when everyone else did, insisted none of the women on the show ever had the video or any other evidence, and added that she doesn't condone what happened from either side. She also said she has theories about who did leak it, but maintained it was not anyone from the cast.

Then ABC pulled the plug, fast

Three days before the premiere date, ABC chose not to move forward with Taylor's season of The Bachelorette. The network's statement was blunt:

'In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family. '

In response, Taylor's rep said she appreciated ABC's support and framed Taylor as someone who endured years of mental and physical abuse and threats, and is now ready to confront her accuser and keep her kids safe.

Where Taylor is now

Beyond the piano detour, Taylor took a beat on March 23 to thank the people praying for her and promised she would not forget who stood by her. It has been a lot — leaks, production pauses, police updates, and now a scrapped Bachelorette season — but at least we know which castmates picked up the phone when it mattered.
