Tatiana Maslany playfully addressed speculation about her involvement as She-Hulk in Avengers: Doomsday, hinting that her connection to the character might not be over despite the show's cancellation.

When She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premiered on Disney+ in 2022, it faced a wave of criticism from viewers, even though critics gave it a solid 80% rating. The series brought back familiar faces like Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Tim Roth as Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong, but it was met with backlash over its visual effects and a comedic tone that caught many off guard. Some accused the show of pushing a feminist agenda, which led to heated debates online. As a result, hopes for a second season quickly faded, leaving fans wondering what would become of the storylines and the character herself.

Recently, a rumor began circulating on X that Maslany was supposed to have a major role in Avengers: Doomsday but had declined the offer. This led to speculation that the studio might recast the part. However, during a recent appearance on the Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast, Maslany appeared to joke about the situation, possibly fueling the rumor herself. When asked about her involvement in Doomsday, she responded:

Nope. Disney has approached me to play She-Hulk again. Guys, I said no. Because I just did. This is the facts. They're out there. You can read the articles about it. I was really mad at them for kicking me out of the movie. I was just mad. I'm woke. It's woke feminist stuff… I was like, 'How dare you cast a woman in this role? That's disgusting. I’m embarrassed to even be here.’ They really wanted me to be in Doomsday, Avengers-style, or whatever. I turned them down. I'm confirming it here.

Unanswered Questions for the MCU

The cancellation of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law left several storylines unresolved. Hulk’s son, the dynamic between She-Hulk and Daredevil—which didn’t get a mention in Daredevil: Born Again—the fate of Abomination, and other plot threads remain up in the air. With no clear plans for these characters, fans are left to wonder if or when they’ll return to the Marvel universe.

Maslany’s Relationship with Disney

Beyond the show’s mixed reception, Maslany has been vocal about her opinions regarding Disney in recent months. In September 2025, she publicly encouraged subscribers of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN to cancel their memberships following the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel. She posted a photo of herself in a She-Hulk motion capture suit on Instagram to make her point. Despite this, there’s never been any official word of a falling out between Maslany and the studio. Her lighthearted comments about turning down a role in Avengers: Doomsday suggest that the door may not be completely closed on her return as She-Hulk.
