Supernatural’s dream team storms The Boys at last, as Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins reunite in season 5, episode 5, One-Shots — and by the end, only one is still breathing.

Well, that long-teased Supernatural reunion on The Boys finally happened, and it went pretty much exactly how this show would do it: loud, messy, and only one of the guys walks away.

Spoilers for The Boys season 5, episode 5 ahead

Episode 5, titled 'One-Shots,' dropped Wednesday, April 29, and plays out as a same-day mosaic from a few perspectives: Firecracker (Valorie Curry), Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell), Sister Sage (Susan Heyward), Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), and, yes, Terror the dog. The Soldier Boy segment is where the reunion fireworks go off.

After Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) gets squeezed for info, the trail points to a former member of The Seven: Mr. Marathon (Jared Padalecki). He might know where the remaining V1 is stashed. So Homelander (Antony Starr) and Soldier Boy hop to Los Angeles to pay him a very casual visit.

Quick Mr. Marathon download if you didn’t read the comics: he used to be in The Seven until he wasn’t the fastest man alive anymore. Homelander had to swap him out. These days he’s acting in projects at Sony Pictures Television — the show presents it as the place washed-up supes shuffle off to. There’s even a wink on a poster calling him a 'supernatural speedster' in the Supernatural font. Subtle, they are not.

They find Mr. Marathon mid–basement poker night surrounded by famous faces and one very familiar angel-turned-chemist:

  • Kumail Nanjiani
  • Seth Rogen (who is also an executive producer on The Boys)
  • Christopher Mintz-Plasse
  • Will Forte
  • Malchemical, played by Misha Collins

Soldier Boy and Mr. Marathon sneak off to talk through Homelander and the V1 situation. Meanwhile, Malchemical quietly doses Homelander using his powers, knocking him out and setting up a tense three-way standoff with Soldier Boy and Marathon. If you were hoping for a sweet Dean–Sam–Castiel vibe, yeah... no.

Soldier Boy refuses to turn on Homelander and snaps Malchemical’s neck on the spot. That triggers full-blown chaos: Mr. Marathon panics and sprints through his own celebrity guests. And by 'through,' I mean he collides with them at super-speed and they explode. Craig Robinson, who’s been minding his business in the bathroom for most of this, does not get spared either. The show goes all the way with the bit.

Soldier Boy improvises, dousing the place with multiple bottles of Puff Baby baby oil to make the floor slick. It slows Marathon just enough for Soldier Boy to shatter his legs. Homelander wakes up, walks over, and finishes it with a curb-stomp to Marathon’s face.

'I took care of it,' Soldier Boy tells Homelander. 'Because f*** them, that’s why.'

So yes, The Boys reunited Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins — and then promptly killed two of them. Ackles’ Soldier Boy is the lone survivor. Bonus meta touches you probably clocked: the Sony Television graveyard gag, that Supernatural-font poster, and Seth Rogen popping up at the table just to twist the knife.

New episodes of The Boys hit Prime Video on Wednesdays.
