Silo Season 2: What Was It About & Is It Worth Watching?
Like the first season, the second chapter of Silo is in no hurry to reveal all of its cards at once.
The second season of Silo, the post-apocalyptic series starring Rebecca Ferguson and based on the sci-fi novels by Hugh Howey, has wrapped on Apple TV+.
The project has already been renewed for a third and fourth season, so viewers are clearly in for a complete story. We'll tell you how the second season of Silo turned out, and whether it's worth watching.
Juliette Makes a Big Discovery
The second season picks up right where the first left off. Juliette leaves the silo and, unlike other underground dwellers who have come to the surface, not only survives, but makes an important discovery.
It turns out that her shelter is not alone: there are dozens of similar structures in the area. Later, the viewer learns that a total of 51 bunkers have been built.
Juliette arrives at one of the neighboring shelters, which turns out to be abandoned. Many years ago there was an uprising and the inhabitants decided to explore the toxic surface.
Only one inhabitant remains in the complex. A man who calls himself Solo has barricaded himself in one of the rooms and has no intention of helping Nichols. Meanwhile, the woman's spacesuit has been damaged, so she will have to make contact with the mysterious hermit and ask for his help.
A Rebellion Is Brewing in Juliette's Bunker
Meanwhile, a riot is brewing in Juliette's home silo. After she comes to the surface and successfully survives, something no one has ever done before, the inhabitants of the lower levels of the bunker begin to demand answers.
Nichols' friends decide to confront the mayor of the shelter directly, whose place in the first season was taken by the head of the IT department, Bernard Holland. He clearly knows more than others and controls all the secret processes and intelligence services of the shelter.
Meanwhile, seeing the consequences of the riot in the neighboring silo, Juliette decides to return to her home as soon as possible to prevent the worst-case scenario – a massacre and a mass exodus of people to the toxic surface.
In order to do so, she must endure a series of trials, including both life-threatening dives to the flooded floors of the bunker and a meeting with other surviving residents of the complex.
Is Silo Season 2 Worth-Watching?
The second season of Silo, though it suffers from an uneven pacing and a lull in the middle, remains true to its principles and logically continues and deepens the story.
Watching the episodes in the order they were released, the viewer could easily be overwhelmed by a feeling of emptiness and disappointment. But with a high probability, this problem will disappear, if not completely, then at least smoothed out when watching the season in one go.
Such an approach will allow you to get much more involved in what is happening and will relieve frustration after some not very dynamic episodes.
The main thing is not to forget to turn the brightness of your screen to the maximum, because the second season of Silo can compete with last year's season of House of the Dragon for the title of the darkest series.
