Secret Level and 4 Other Video Game Adaptations of 2024 With High Rotten Tomatoes Scores
The finale of the main Netflix project, a spin-off about Knuckles, and an anthology like Love, Death + Robots.
The end of the year is traditionally a time to take stock. 2024 has been marked not only by excellent book adaptations like Dune: Part Two, but also by video games adaptations.
We've rounded up five of the year's most important video game adaptations.
1. Fallout, 2024
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 94%
2296, 200 years after a nuclear war, the privileged population lives in comfortable bunkers while the rest of humanity is forced to survive in harsh post-apocalyptic realities.
Lucy was brutally attacked by raiders during her own wedding. The celebration ended with a dozen dead and the kidnapping of Hank, Lucy's father and the caretaker of the shelter. Despite the danger that awaits her, the girl sets out to find her father.
The series received 16 Emmy nominations, winning two of them. Fallout will appeal not only to loyal fans of the franchise, but also to the unprepared viewer.
2. Arcane Season 2, 2024
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 100%
Arcane has earned the title of one of the most important animated series of our time. The project became an instant hit on Netflix and the unofficial king of game adaptations.
All thanks to the colorful visuals, rich lore, and twisted plot that is accessible to both fans of the original game and the general audience.
The second and final season is in no way inferior to its predecessor. The relationship between Vi and Powder is strained to the breaking point. The people of Piltover are willing to slaughter the people of Zaun to find Jinx, who becomes a true symbol of the fight for freedom. The dramatic and bloody ending is a magnificent conclusion to the saga.
3. Knuckles, 2024
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 75%
Knuckles is a six-part spin-off that tells the story of the red echidna after the events of the second movie in the franchise.
Knuckles can't get used to the carefree life on Earth. The brutal echidna sees mailmen and gardeners as enemies, trains a golden retriever for combat, gobbles up Doritos and does not understand why his parents punish him.
Along with Sonic and Tails, Knuckles became the third adopted child of the Wachowski family. Unlike his brothers, however, the echidna has no intention of wasting his time playing video games.
4. Halo Season 2, 2024
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 90%
The distant future. Humanity has successfully colonized space and faces an alliance of alien races called the Covenant. In order to fight a superior enemy on equal terms, Earth's leadership launches the Silver Team project.
The team members are fighters trained since childhood, led by Master Chief. In contrast to the game series, the warrior in the show is not a silent killing machine, but a man wounded in body and soul by war. Master Chief constantly questions the orders of his leadership and tries to uncover the secrets of his past.
5. Secret Level, 2024
