Real Housewives of Beverly Hills won’t see a season 16 shake-up, executive producer Alex Baskin says, shutting down overhaul chatter despite blind-item buzz that Dorit Kemsley would be benched after reunion clashes with Kyle Richards and Erika Jayne.

If you saw chatter about a big Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast shake-up for season 16, take a beat. Executive producer Alex Baskin just swatted the whole thing down. Meanwhile, Dorit Kemsley is in the middle of a very public money fight with PK and is not exactly ducking the topic.

The rumored overhaul that (according to production) is not happening

On Friday, May 23, a fresh round of gossip hit that Dorit Kemsley was getting put on pause next season after clashing with Kyle Richards and Erika Jayne at the season 15 reunion. A blind item went further, claiming certain cast members were already locked and others were circling back.

  • Locked in, per the blind item: Kyle Richards (it randomly threw in ages and pegged her at 57), Erika Jayne (54), Sutton Stracke, Bozoma Saint John, and Rachel Zoe
  • Jennifer Tilly supposedly returning as a friend of the Housewives
  • Bravo allegedly offered controversial newbie Amanda Frances a new contract
  • Crystal Kung Minkoff said to be back in the mix
  • And yes, that Dorit pause rumor after the reunion dust-up with Kyle and Erika

Baskin, 45, jumped on Instagram Stories the same day to say the whole thing is "not true." Short, dismissive, and about as definitive as it gets.

Dorit vs. PK: the $1 million question

Dorit, 49, is deep into a messy divorce from PK Kemsley, and this month it turned into a ledger fight. PK is alleging she spent more than $1 million on luxury items over the past year — which he says adds up to 80 percent of her available funds. That number became a storyline flashpoint on the show and off it.

Dorit responds (and promises more in court)

Asked about the spending claims during an Extra interview on Thursday, May 21, Dorit said she will be answering in court soon and kept it procedural: when you are in litigation, you follow the process, and there are always two sides to the story.

"Do I love fashion? Yes. Do I spend a lot of money on clothes, expensive clothes, designer clothes? Yes. It is my choice. It is also my money. It’s my money that I earn, that I work for. Not his money."

She also said that once she and PK finalize an agreement, what each of them buys will be their own business — but right now, because their finances are still intertwined, there is this feeling that each can weigh in on the other’s spending.

How it played on RHOBH

Dorit’s shopping became a season 15 sticking point. Kyle openly wondered if Dorit’s spending spikes were tied to her marital stress and warned at the reunion that Dorit was dropping a lot of money. Dorit did not love being judged, especially by Kyle, and said so. Kyle, for her part, pushed back that she is not in the same financial position as Dorit — a pretty sharp line even by reunion standards.

Bottom line: despite the rumor mill grinding hard, production says there is no confirmed season 16 overhaul. Dorit’s legal and financial drama, however, is very real and very active — and if history is any guide, it will keep bleeding into the show.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo and streams on Peacock.
