My Adventures with Superman returns to Adult Swim later this June with Season 3, reimagining Reign of the Supermen and delivering a major shake-up for Lex Luthor.

Adult Swim is bringing back My Adventures with Superman in June, and the show is taking a big swing: its own version of Reign of the Supermen. Yes, the one that usually follows Death of Superman. Also yes, Lex Luthor finally loses the hair. It only took two seasons.

Lex finally looks like Lex

The series has always played the long game with its villains, and Lex has been the slowest burn of all. In Seasons 1 and 2 he went by 'Alex' while trying to climb the corporate-military ladder, cozying up to Amanda Waller and chasing bigger, louder science projects to get noticed. A new Season 3 poster shows him bald at last, which feels like the official coronation of the guy we all know he becomes. He may not be the top threat this season, but do not be shocked if he is the one nudging certain nightmare tech forward from the shadows.

Reign of the Supermen, but make it this show

Traditionally, Reign of the Supermen hits right after Superman dies and four new contenders show up to fill the void. This version is not a copy-paste. Clark is very much alive here and, thanks to prior seasons, already knows his way around things like time travel and the multiverse. That opens the door for twists, and the promos are already teasing fresh spins on the usual players: Cyborg Superman is in the mix, and there is a new Superboy on deck. The poster and marketing are also hinting that Lex could be tied to the tech behind a certain cybernetic Superman. Again, not the headliner villain, but the fingerprints might be there.

When and where to watch

Season 3 premieres on Adult Swim on Saturday, June 13 at midnight ET/PT as part of the Toonami block, with episodes streaming the next day on HBO Max.

  • Premiere: Saturday, June 13 at midnight ET/PT on Adult Swim (Toonami); streaming next day on HBO Max
  • Main cast: Jack Quaid (Clark Kent/Superman), Alice Lee (Lois Lane), Ishmel Sahid (Jimmy Olsen)
  • Also back: Kiana Madeira as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
  • New this season: Darren Criss joins as Superboy
  • Arc focus: A reimagined Reign of the Supermen with Cyborg Superman and a fresh Superboy twist, all while Superman is still around
  • Lex watch: After two seasons of 'Alex' climbing the corporate-military ranks under Amanda Waller, Season 3 gives us bald Lex — not the main villain (yet), but potentially the architect behind some very dangerous tech

Bottom line: the show is taking a classic DC storyline and filtering it through its own continuity — the younger Daily Planet crew, a Superman who is not dead, and a Lex who has finally matched his brain with the traditional haircut. Expect familiar names, unfamiliar angles, and at least one very shiny scalp.
