Regular Show is back. Nine years after its finale, Cartoon Network is rolling out revival series Regular Show: The Lost Tapes this month, and the network has already revealed the episode release schedule ahead of the premiere.

Mordecai and Rigby are clocking back in. Nine years after the original run wrapped, Cartoon Network is bringing Regular Show back with a new revival, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, and we finally have the rollout plan.

Premiere, where to watch, and how much we are getting

The Lost Tapes premieres on Cartoon Network on May 11 at 4:00 PM ET, debuting in the United States and in international territories at that time. It kicks off with a half-hour special that is specifically designed to explain how this revival fits into the show’s existing continuity. New episodes then run on weekdays through the month. Cartoon Network says we are getting 10 episodes in May, with all of them heading to HBO Max in June. The season is 40 episodes total, with the remaining 30 slated for later on dates the network has not announced yet.

May schedule

  • Mon May 11, 4:00 PM ET — Season premiere (half-hour special)
  • Tue May 12, 4:00 PM ET — Episode 102
  • Wed May 13, 4:00 PM ET — Episode 103
  • Thu May 14, 4:00 PM ET — Episode 104
  • Mon May 18, 4:00 PM ET — Episode 105
  • Tue May 19, 4:00 PM ET — Episode 106
  • Wed May 20, 4:00 PM ET — Episode 107
  • Thu May 21, 4:00 PM ET — Episode 108
  • Fri May 22, 4:00 PM ET — Episode 109

Yes, the network says 10 episodes this month, and the grid they shared lists nine airings including the premiere. One more slot is clearly still to come, but they have not put a date to it yet.

So... canon

The original finale ended with a time jump after Mordecai and Rigby moved on from the park. The new previews toss them right back into their park-era chaos, which naturally raises continuity questions. The creators know that. The premiere is supposed to lay out exactly how this revival fits into the original canon. We will see how tidy that explanation is, but that is the promise.

Who is making it (and who is back)

Regular Show creator J.G. Quintel is back, producing the revival for Cartoon Network Studios and returning to voice his characters. Also returning on the voice front: William Salyers, Sam Marin, Mark Hamill, Minty Lewis, Janie Haddad Tompkins, and more. Behind the scenes, Sean Szeles and Sam Register are executive producers, Toby Jones is supervising director, Paula Spence is supervising art director, and Ryan Slater is producer.

The vibe

Expect new weirdness with the same two slackers at the center of it, which is exactly what people have been waiting for since this revival was first floated. Ten episodes hit TV in May, the rest start streaming in June, and there are 30 more on deck after that. Plenty to chew on.
