They will make viewers of all ages laugh, cry, and think.

Animation technology continues to evolve without losing its analog charm. Just curl up in front of the screen and your inner child will awaken under the influence of creative animated storytelling.

We've rounded up five of the coziest animated series, perfect for those cold winter evenings.

1. Strange Planet, 2023-...

A planet very similar to Earth is inhabited by blue people. Their problems are simple and familiar: a flight attendant gets promoted but loses contact with her colleagues, a new guy comes to work in a restaurant, a man in love agrees to take care of the girl's cat, and a mother cannot accept that her son has grown up.

Strange Planet is based on popular comics about funny aliens who understand everything literally – this part was preserved in the series. And the main plot looks like small sketches from life – they will seem familiar to everyone.

2. Star vs. the Forces of Evil, 2012-2019

The story centers on Star Butterfly, a princess from another dimension. For her birthday, she receives a magic wand and nearly destroys her home castle and the town with it.

To help her learn how to use her new powers, her parents send Star to Earth to live with the Diaz couple and their son, Marco. He loves karate, nachos and dreams of adventure.

Unlike most of the other series on this list, Star vs. the Forces of Evil is aimed at entertaining the viewer. Inspired by Sailor Moon, the series is full speed ahead as the characters relentlessly jump through different dimensions, fight villains, and deal with school problems.

3. DuckTales, 2017-2021

Once upon a time, tycoon Scrooge McDuck was the world's most daring adventurer, but now his spirit of adventure has left him.

Everything changes when his nephew Donald Duck shows up at his mansion and asks his uncle to temporarily babysit the children, triplets Huey, Dewey and Louie.

The original DuckTales is well remembered by adults around the world. However, even the best classics sometimes need an update, and the version that came out in 2017 did not disappoint. The DuckTales reboot breathed new life into the familiar storyline, while keeping everything that fans of the original loved so much intact.

4. Over the Garden Wall, 2014

Two half-brothers get lost in a strange forest. The oldest, Wirt, is prone to anxiety and hides his love of poetry from everyone. The youngest, Greg, is naive, carefree, and carries around a frog for which he can't think of a name.

Together, they must overcome many dangers, make new friends, and encounter an ancient creature that leads lost souls astray.

Over the Garden Wall began as children's series that quickly became popular with people of all ages. The story of two brothers trying to cope with the strangeness of the world resonated with viewers thanks to a mix of high-quality animation and a great plot based on folklore and fairy tales.

5. Infinity Train, 2019-2021

The series takes place on a huge and mysterious train. Its carriages contain many bizarre and fantastic locations, and the passengers who find themselves on board must deal with psychological trauma and emotional problems in order to return to the real world.

Infinity Train does not shy away from adult topics and perfectly demonstrates that animation is not just for children. The bright fantasy worlds of the train are pleasing to the eye, but do not overshadow the main thing – the stories of characters trying to understand themselves and their problems.
