Off Campus is already skating into season 2, and yeah, not everyone from season 1 is making the trip back. Based on Elle Kennedy's books, Off Campus premiered in May 2026 and follows an elite Briar University hockey team and the women in their lives as they juggle love, heartbreak, and figuring themselves out. Think friendships and big feelings colliding with messy early adulthood.

Season 1 zoomed in on the opposites-attract vibe between quiet songwriter Hannah (Ella Bright) and Briar U's star forward Garrett (Belmont Cameli). Along the way, the show introduced a bench full of future leads and scene-stealers: Mika Abdalla, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Josh Heuston, and Stephen Thomas Kalyn.

The season 2 wrinkle

Creator Louisa Levy confirmed in May 2026 that one season 1 character will not appear in season 2: Justin, played by Josh Heuston. The door is not closed forever, though, and it sounds like timing and future storylines are the deciding factors.

"Not next season, but I love Josh and I would not write him off if I can find a way to bring Justin back at some point."

Levy also pointed out that the show has not introduced Stella yet — the character Justin ends up with in the books — which is an obvious way to circle him back in later. She made it clear this absence was not always the plan and left it at a very TV-friendly "never say never."

Who is back, who is leading next, and who is sitting out (for now)

• Ella Bright (Hannah): Sticking around. She and Cameli both signaled they will continue to be part of the story even as the focus shifts.
• Belmont Cameli (Garrett): Also sticking around. He gets that fans worry about the rotating-couple format, but he says they will be along for the ride.
• Antonio Cipriano (Logan ): Expected to take center stage either in season 2 or season 3.
• India Fowler (Grace): Cast as Logan's love interest, Grace was brought in with a season 2 debut in mind.
• Stephen Thomas Kalyn (Dean): Slated to be a major presence going forward and to headline a future season.
• Mika Abdalla (Allie): On deck to lead season 3 if she is not headlining season 2.
• Jalen Thomas Brooks (Tucker): Returning in future seasons; he has his own book storyline in the pipeline.
• Josh Heuston (Justin): Not appearing in season 2. Levy would like to bring him back later, potentially when Stella enters the picture.
