Chris Hansen wasn’t buying Robert Pattinson’s Primetime take — and he’s not done with it, either.

Chris Hansen took his case straight to Robert Pattinson this week, posting a video on X and inviting the actor to join him on his podcast for a face-to-face about Primetime. Hansen said he’s fielded constant questions about Pattinson and the film ’s portrayal of him — and wants to address it together, on mic.

“Robert Pattinson…have a seat with me!”

Hansen pitched a wide-ranging chat that would cover Primetime, its depiction of his career, and Pattinson’s work as an actor. He even offered to fly to London — where Pattinson is reportedly filming The Batman Part II — to make it happen, calling the potential sit-down “engaging” and leaving the timing open-ended in his social post.

The outreach follows months of Hansen blasting the A24 psychological thriller and Pattinson’s fictionalized version of him. He’s been blunt about his take on the movie since its fall 2026 release, saying it misrepresents his investigations and legacy.

Hansen has called the film a “dark, dishonest, and completely made-up work of fiction.”

In Primetime, produced by A24, Pattinson plays a character clearly modeled on the former To Catch a Predator host. Hansen has repeatedly argued the dramatization crosses a line; the podcast invite is his push to debate that portrayal directly with the star who brought it to the screen.

Will Pattinson bite?

Whether he can carve out time is another question. Pattinson is reportedly deep into The Batman Part II in the U.K., a commitment that can eat up months and spill into post-production.

  • Extended shooting blocks on a major tentpole
  • Possible ADR or reshoots once filming wraps
  • Promotional duties on other projects tied to release calendars

Hansen says the offer stands — stateside or in London — whenever Pattinson is available, and he’s made the invitation public across his socials.
