From release date to plot twists, get the lowdown on Nemesis season 2 on Netflix.

Netflix dropped Nemesis on May 14, and it did not waste any time getting messy in the best way: slick heists, tangled loyalties, and that 'are we rooting for the criminals or the cops?' energy. The finale basically waved a neon 'to be continued' sign, so yeah — everyone is already asking about season 2.

So, is Nemesis season 2 happening?

Short answer: not officially. In the first week after release, Netflix has not renewed the show. But creator Courtney A. Kemp went on Instagram Live and said she already has season 2 mapped out and the team is actively working on it. Translation: plans are in motion, but the streamer still needs to say the magic words.

"I need season 2 ASAP!!"

Fans are loud about it too — lots of 'greenlight it already' energy, alongside the usual post-finale chaos about character choices. Deon, Noah, and Candace, in particular, have people heated. There’s even nitpicking about a wonky travel timeline for Charlie (if you know, you know). Others loved the ride but had issues with at least one performance. Par for the course with a buzzy crime show.

Who would be back?

No cast list is locked because renewal isn’t. That said, based on where season 1 leaves everyone, these are the most likely returnees:

  • Matthew Law as Detective Isaiah Stiles
  • Y'lan Noel as Coltrane Wilder
  • Cleopatra Coleman as Ebony Wilder
  • Gabrielle Dennis as Candace Stiles
  • Cedric Joe as Noah Stiles
  • Plus strong possibilities: Sophia Brown as Charlie, Tre Hall as Darren, and Jonnie 'Dumbfoundead' Park as Chris Choi

What season 2 could be about

If Nemesis comes back, expect the fallout from the Isaiah vs. Coltrane rivalry to blow up even bigger. One likely thread: Coltrane tracking down his pregnant wife, Ebony, after she was quietly removed from the hospital. Another: Coltrane trying to dig himself out of the hole he made by leaning on the cartel — because that tab always comes due.

Why a renewal actually makes sense

Nemesis is the first series out of Courtney A. Kemp’s new creative partnership with Netflix, co-created with Tani Marole. The show blends high-stakes heists with that morally gray, character-first storytelling Kemp is known for, and the season 1 ending is built to launch a second chapter. It feels inevitable — now it’s just on Netflix to make it official.
