Millie Bobby Brown Reveals the Movie Ending That Moved Her Most
Millie Bobby Brown opens up about her journey from Stranger Things to her admiration for the Harry Potter finale, drawing connections between her own experiences and the stories that shaped her.
Growing up in the spotlight is no easy feat, especially when fame arrives before your teenage years. Millie Bobby Brown, who first captured audiences at just 12 years old with her breakout role in Stranger Things, has spent nearly a decade navigating the challenges and rewards of early stardom. Now 21, she often reflects on the lessons she’s learned—both on set and in her personal life. Despite facing major life changes, like marriage and motherhood, Brown chooses to focus on how these experiences have shaped her as an actress and a person. For her, Stranger Things remains a defining chapter, one that continues to influence her approach to new projects.
Embracing Growth and Letting Go of Regret
Many actors struggle for years with self-criticism, picking apart their performances and wishing they could change the past. Brown, however, has learned to avoid that trap. She recognizes that dwelling on what could have been is a waste of energy. When she talks about her process, she comes across as wise beyond her years, especially when discussing how she handles seeing herself on screen. Playing Eleven demanded vulnerability and emotional intensity, and Brown had to leave any hesitation behind. She’s carried that lesson with her, learning to be open and present when it matters most.
Brown credits this mindset to her favorite films, especially those that explore themes of regret and acceptance. She’s spoken about how the movie About Time resonated with her, saying its message helped her separate meaningful emotions from those that hold her back.
“That is how I lived this season,”
she shared in an interview,
“I have no regrets, and I’m very proud of the work I’ve done. So I’m not going back in the closet and wanting to change anything.”
Finding Inspiration in Powerful Endings
What draws Brown to certain stories, both as an actress and a viewer, is the strength of their messages. She’s especially moved by films that leave a lasting impact or feel deeply relevant to her own experiences. As Stranger Things approaches its highly anticipated conclusion, Brown feels confident that the show’s finale will resonate with fans. She even compares it to her favorite cinematic ending—the final moments of the Harry Potter series.
Brown has openly praised the way the Harry Potter saga wrapped up, calling it her favorite ending in movie history.
“The end of Harry Potter [is my favourite-ever ending],”
she said,
“That’s probably my favourite film, the last one.”
She’s referring to the emotional time jump, set 19 years in the future, where viewers see the main characters as adults with their own children.
“I think it’s very similar in many ways [to Stranger Things] because you’re following these children, and you’re trying to tie their storylines and character arcs together toward the end. It’s probably the same amount of runtime. I mean, what was it? Ten years for them, too?”
