Meghan Trainor has pulled the plug on her Get in Girl Tour just two months before it was set to kick off, leaving fans stunned. The 32-year-old revealed on her Instagram Story on Thursday, April 16, that after reflection and tough conversations she’s canceling the trek.

Well, this changed fast. Meghan Trainor just pulled the plug on her Get in Girl Tour a little under two months before opening night. If you felt blindsided, you are not alone — especially since she had literally posted the tour setlist hours before canceling.

What happened

Trainor announced on her Instagram Story on Thursday, April 16, that she is canceling the entire tour. She framed it as a tough call after realizing the timing just was not workable — new album rollout, a full summer of shows, and a brand-new baby at home.

"After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the Get in Girl Tour."

She added that juggling an album launch, tour prep, and a newborn was simply too much, and she needs to be home and present for her family right now. She apologized to fans, promised she will be back, and said she cannot wait for everyone to hear the new record she is proud of.

The timing (and why fans are extra shocked)

This was supposed to be a straightforward summer run: kick off June 12 in Clarkston, Michigan, and wrap August 15 in Los Angeles. The whole thing was teased way back in November 2025, when she also revealed her seventh studio album, Toy With Me, was in the works. Then on Thursday, she dropped the official setlist — and a few hours later, canceled the tour. Whiplash.

  • Nov 2025: Tour plans teased; album in development revealed
  • Thu, Apr 16: Posts the tour setlist, then cancels the tour the same day
  • Fri, Apr 24: Toy With Me release date (still on)
  • Wed, Apr 15: Her April magazine cover story hits newsstands
  • Thu, Jun 12: Planned tour start in Clarkston, MI (now canceled)
  • Thu, Aug 15: Planned finale in Los Angeles (also canceled)

The family piece

Trainor and husband Daryl Sabara welcomed their third child, daughter Mickey, in January via surrogate. They are now a family of five — sons Riley, 5, and Barry, almost 3, plus baby Mickey. She has talked before about how using a surrogate was not their first choice and that she felt jealous she could not carry their third baby herself. Given all that, her saying she needs to be home right now tracks.

The album is still coming

Toy With Me is not moving — it drops Friday, April 24. In her April cover story (which arrived on Wednesday, April 15), Trainor said part of the record was fueled by backlash she got after losing weight with a GLP-1 medication. She had been feeling better in her body, showed up to the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event, and, according to her, got hit with the most appearance-focused hate she had ever seen. She turned that sting into the track 'Still Don’t Care.'

There is a softer thread running through the album too: several songs, including 'Get in Girl' and 'Shimmer,' were inspired by baby Mickey. Trainor wrote them with her daughter’s future in mind — the middle-school meltdowns, the first heartbreak, the moments when you need a song to help you shine.

Bottom line

No shows this summer, but the music is still landing on time. The last-minute cancel after posting a setlist is one of those weird rollouts you do not see often, but given the newborn and the schedule pileup, it makes sense. If you bought tickets, watch for official refund info from your point of purchase. If you are here for the new songs, Friday is still the day.
