Four years after the show ended, Tatiana Maslany finally addresses whether She-Hulk will smash back into the MCU, following her 2022 Disney+ debut and a long absence from the franchise.

She-Hulk has been MIA from the MCU for a while, but Tatiana Maslany just weighed in on whether she would suit up again. Short version: she is into it, as long as it makes sense.

So, where has She-Hulk been?

Maslany made her Marvel debut in 2022 with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney+. It wrapped that year and, four years later, we still haven’t seen Jennifer Walters pop up anywhere else. Despite Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum calling She-Hulk: Attorney at Law one of their "best-performing shows," there’s still no Season 2 on the books. And Maslany’s name hasn’t appeared on the ever-growing roll call for Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars either.

Maslany on coming back

Asked by Radio Times if she’d return, Maslany said the character and the show still mean a lot to her, even after all the noise around the first season — the mix of legit critiques and the review-bombing nonsense. She did publicly back a Disney boycott after Jimmy Kimmel was temporarily suspended last September, which naturally had fans wondering where things stood between her and the company. But she separated her love of the character from the corporate side of it and left the door open.

"The character is outside of what I feel like the corporation is doing."

"I love She Hulk, and I loved what [Attorney at Law creator] Jessica Gao did with her. I feel like it was very loyal to the comics and all of that. ... If there was a space where it made sense for her to come back... I mean, I don’t know anything, and I do think that the internet will know before I do."

What that actually means

Translation: she’s game, but it has to fit the larger puzzle. That tracks with what a lot of Marvel actors say these days — everyone is waiting on the bigger plan to click into place. Given Winderbaum’s "best-performing" comment, it wouldn’t be shocking if Marvel finds a spot for her. It should, honestly.

Where She-Hulk could logically show up

She-Hulk’s tone and Maslany’s performance were a highlight — sharp, funny, very comic-booky in a good way. She already crossed paths with Matt Murdock on the show, which practically writes her into Daredevil: Born Again if Marvel wants it. And she’d bring a very welcome energy to any Avengers lineup once the movies start corralling all these heroes again.

Marvel’s backlog of characters who need a return

She-Hulk isn’t the only hero stuck on the bench post-Infinity Saga. Marvel’s had a tough time threading its streaming characters into the films, and the longer that goes on, the stranger it feels. A few standing in the same line:

  • Moon Knight: Oscar Isaac’s vigilante is still in limbo with no clear next step.
  • Ms. Marvel: Iman Vellani made it to The Marvels and could factor into Avengers: Doomsday, but her screen time has been limited so far.
  • She-Hulk: Prime candidate for a team-up, a legal cameo, or a fourth-wall-breaking assist — anything, really.

Bottom line

Maslany wants back in if Marvel has a smart place to put her. That’s the good news. The less-good news is we’re still waiting on Marvel to actually integrate these Disney+ breakouts into the movie machine. It’d be a miss to let a character this fun (and this ready-made for crossovers) sit out much longer.
