At CBS Fest on April 15, The Marshals cast stoked Dutton Ranch romance buzz and teased the spinoff’s tangled relationships, with Arielle Kebbel hinting they want the whole Yellowstone crew—and a few country stars—to drop by.

Yellowstone may have wrapped, but the Dutton-adjacent chaos is thriving. The Marshals cast just dug into the romance chatter, crossover rumors, and how they are carving out their own lane in this universe without breaking what came before.

Cameos, crossovers, and keeping the vibe

At CBS Fest on Wednesday, April 15, Arielle Kebbel was game about possible Yellowstone faces popping up on Marshals. Short version: they would happily take as many as they can get, and if a few country stars want to wander through, no one is going to stop them. On a full-on Dutton Ranch crossover, she played it careful but did nod at the rumor mill doing its thing.

"Respecting what’s already been built but also feeling creative and free enough to bring our own character stories forward."

That was Kebbel on the main creative tightrope for a Yellowstone spinoff. Fair point: pay respect to the mothership, but make sure this crew stands on its own.

Quick refresher: where the Dutton offshoots landed

Yellowstone ran from 2018 to 2024. After it ended, CBS rolled out Marshals, which follows Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton ditching day-to-day ranch life to join an elite U.S. Marshals unit. Meanwhile, Paramount has Dutton Ranch, tracking Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) as they try to make Texas home. Both shows are widening the world with new faces, including Kebbel as Belle on Marshals.

That kiss you did not see coming (or maybe you did)

The most recent Marshals episode took Belle and Cal out of the friend zone with an actual kiss. Fans had opinions. So did the actors:

Logan Marshall-Green (49) said it did not feel rushed to him and that the story earned it. Ash Santos (32) was fully on board and basically said she had been waiting for that moment. Kebbel was not blindsided either, but for a different reason: before the season started, she sat down with the showrunner, asked for what she needed to play Belle, and deliberately did not get the whole season spoiled. So she knew some beats were coming, not all of them. She liked that overlap between Arielle-the-actor and Belle-the-character both operating with imperfect information.

Are Belle and Cal a thing now? Eh, not so fast

Kebbel thinks the show is not ready to lock them in as a couple. The team is still gelling, and one workplace kiss brings a healthy dose of awkward with it. The good news for anyone rooting for them: both characters put the job first and are wrestling with how to balance work and family because they care about both. Expect those layers to peel back in upcoming episodes.

Speaking of romance: Kayce and Andrea?

Kebbel did not spot that pairing at first. Then other people pointed it out and she went, okay, interesting. She is into exploring it because Kayce and Andrea are total opposites, which is TV catnip. Also, yes, she has seen the TikTok edits shipping them and gave a shout to the fan doing the heavy lifting there.
