Love Island USA cast members rally around Austin Shepard after his relapse and tease Beyond the Villa as the unfiltered second act—real context, redemption arcs, and the sides the main show never showed.

Peacock is rolling out season 2 of Love Island: Beyond the Villa, and the new crew from Love Island USA season 7 is treating it like a do-over. They want to show who they actually are, not just the bite-size versions you saw last summer. And yes, they are also rallying around Austin Shepard after he revealed he relapsed while filming the spinoff.

Quick refresher: what this whole thing is

Love Island USA sticks a bunch of single people in a luxe Fiji villa under round-the-clock cameras. If you are not coupled up, you are out, and the last pair standing walks away with $100,000. Beyond the Villa is the follow-up hangout: the Islanders reconnect off the main show and, in theory, show who they are without the daily dump edits doing the steering.

The point of season 2, according to the cast

"People see a few clips and think they know you. That is not the case."

Clarke Carraway says a lot of them felt half-introduced on season 7 and are using Beyond the Villa to fill in the blanks. Belle-A Walker (you might also see her as Bella-A) added that most of this group did not last long in the villa, which is why some viewers labeled them side characters. The spinoff, for them, is a chance to get past that first impression and, hopefully, win people over by actually being on screen longer than a recoupling ceremony.

Hannah Fields was blunt about how being back on TV changes your headspace. In the villa, you are flying blind and only find out what the audience saw after the fact. Now, she says, everyone is more intentional and a little more aware of how choices could read later. Not in a fake way, just... wiser.

Who is in Beyond the Villa season 2

Premiering Wednesday, April 15, nearly a year after their Love Island USA season aired, the lineup is:

  • Gracyn Blackmore
  • Jeremiah Brown
  • Clarke Carraway
  • Amaya Espinal
  • Hannah Fields
  • Pepe Garcia
  • Iris Kendall
  • TJ Palma
  • Andreina Santos
  • Chris Seeley
  • Belle-A Walker
  • CoCo Watson
  • Taylor Williams

Cameos, because of course

The trailer teases appearances from Nic Vansteenberghe and Austin Shepard. Austin is the one making headlines for a much more serious reason.

On Austin Shepard, relapse, and showing up for each other

Austin shared that he relapsed during spinoff filming. Belle-A says she knew some of what was happening at the time and is proud of how open he has been about it. According to her, he is doing much better now and putting in the work. TJ Palma said the group did not really know he was struggling in the moment, but he and Iris Kendall reached out with support once they learned. Amaya Espinal, who coupled with Austin briefly in the villa, called his honesty inspiring and emphasized that his mental health now being in a better place is what matters.

Season 1 vets sent in notes like good older siblings

Some advice floated over from the first Beyond the Villa crew (those were Islanders from Love Island USA season 6). Chris Seeley heard from Kendall Washington, who set expectations after they crossed paths on Love Island Games. Belle-A got pep talks from Leah Kateb, Serena Page, and JaNa Craig. Their reminder: viewers only see a cut-up sliver of months of footage, so do your thing and lean on the people who actually know you.

When to watch

Love Island: Beyond the Villa season 2 premieres Wednesday, April 15 on Peacock. New episodes drop Wednesdays. Expect a lot of summer-camp energy from people who already know each other a little too well, and a clearer look at the Islanders who did not get a full arc the first time around.
