Lainey Wilson Weds Devlin Duck Hodges in a Breathtaking Cave Ceremony
After five years together, Lainey Wilson and Devlin Duck Hodges tied the knot May 10 at Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee, celebrating with friends and family in a romantic ceremony.
Lainey Wilson just went full fairytale and married former NFL quarterback Devlin 'Duck' Hodges, and yes, they did it in a cave. Not a metaphorical cave. An actual cave. And it worked.
The where, when, and why
Wilson, 33, and Hodges, 30, tied the knot on Sunday, May 10 at Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee, surrounded by friends and family. The venue pick was delightfully random: the two were driving backroads in Tennessee, spotted a billboard for the place, pulled over to check it out, and fell for the scenery and the no-fuss vibe. Wilson laid it all out in a Vogue interview that ran Thursday, May 14.
The ceremony
The vows happened outdoors with a waterfall as the backdrop. They built out the altar with vintage glass windows and wildflowers that matched Wilson's bouquet. It was one of those quietly cinematic scenes you can hear: trickling water, birds, a spring breeze. Wilson arrived in a white horse-drawn carriage and walked down the aisle with her dad - she calls him 'Deddy' - to meet Hodges at the altar. The officiant was Wilson's friend and mentor Wes Williams.
'I have never seen Duck smile as big as he did then... We were both anxious to say 'I do!''
The looks
The Grammy winner parked her signature bell bottoms for the day and went classic: a custom Oscar de la Renta gown detailed with tiny Japanese cherry blossoms around the neckline and scattered through the dress. She said the cherry blossom is about living in the moment, which pretty much nailed the day. She still kept it country with custom Golden West Boots finished with Swarovski crystals.
Hodges went green - literally - in a bespoke suit by D. Lacquaniti, plus a custom bolo, cufflinks, and a hat pin he designed with Mud Lowery.
The party
Post-'I do,' everyone kicked off a second line march to cocktail hour. If you know Wilson's Louisiana roots, that tracks - it is a New Orleans-style parade moment, and she did it again to lead the crowd to the reception inside the cave, which they lit with strings of lights.
Seating assignments were a flex: a wall of tiny cowboy hats, each feather tagged with a guest's name. Tables came with velvet green chairs, mirrored tops to bounce the cave's natural texture back at you, and bright, bold flowers - peonies included - everywhere.
Food leaned Cajun, cooked by chefs from Wilson's own Bell Bottoms Up bar. The celebrity roll call was stacked: Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll, Ella Langley, Miranda Lambert, Lauren Alaina, and Wynonna Judd were all there. The cocktails flowed, the dance floor stayed full, and the night ended with a sparkler sendoff. Wilson and Hodges followed the band through the cheering line, climbed into an old white Ford truck, and drove off like they meant it.
The backstory
The two met on a blind date in 2021 and, five years later, here we are. Sometimes the billboard pick is the right pick. Strong move.
