Love with a sting: In a prison call released by TMZ, Kendra Duggar tells Joseph the family still loves him but is disappointed after his recent arrest — a reality he says he understands.

Another day, another Duggar headline, and this one is a lot. Joseph Duggar has been hit with serious charges, Kendra Duggar got arrested separately, and there is a jailhouse call floating around that does not make any of it less messy.

The jail call: love, disappointment, and a lot of 'one day at a time'

Audio from a Thursday, March 26 phone call between Joseph (31) and his wife Kendra (27) surfaced via TMZ. It is exactly what you think it is: careful, supportive, and a little heartbreaking.

'Just know that everybody loves you, even if they are disappointed,' Kendra tells him.

Joseph says he gets the disappointment, but he still feels the family support 'absolutely.' He adds he is not upset. They both land on taking it one day at a time. For what it is worth, Page Six noted Kendra’s number shows up on Joseph’s call log every day, sometimes twice. Very specific, but yes, that detail is out there.

The charges and the Florida move

Joseph, a former reality TV figure who shares four kids with Kendra, was arrested in Arkansas earlier this month and then extradited to Florida on Tuesday, March 31, for the case there. He has pleaded not guilty in writing and is asking for a jury trial.

The charges are heavy. Prosecutors in Florida allege lewd and lascivious behavior involving molestation of a victim younger than 12, plus lewd and lascivious conduct by a person 18 or older. On top of that, he faces four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.

At the arraignment in Bay County, Florida, Joseph’s lawyer said he wants to be treated like anyone else, not as a TV name, and pushed for a reasonable bond, noting he has no prior criminal history. The prosecutor countered that the allegation is a serious one made by a child, asked for a no-contact order with the victim and any minors, and pointed out Joseph has no ties to the area and was only there on vacation. The judge landed in the middle: no contact with the alleged victim and no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18. Bond was set at $600,000. Joseph posted it and is out, with those conditions.

Kendra’s separate arrest, explained

Kendra was also arrested, but for something different: on March 20, she was booked on endangering the welfare of a minor and released on a $1,470 bond. A source told Us Weekly her arrest is not tied to Joseph’s Florida case. According to that source, once Joseph was charged, authorities did a routine home check because minors live there. During that check, they allegedly found two rooms with door locks installed on the outside rather than the inside. The source claims that was treated as evidence she could be wrongfully detaining her kids. The same source also says the children were removed at that point. It is a bizarre, technical-sounding detail, but it is apparently why she was arrested.

Where the case stands right now

  • Phone call: In a March 26 jail call published by TMZ, Kendra tells Joseph the family still loves him, even if they are disappointed. He agrees and says he is not upset. Page Six says Kendra appears in his call log daily.
  • Joseph’s charges: Alleged lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim under 12 and lewd and lascivious conduct by an adult, plus four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.
  • Plea and trial: He entered a written not-guilty plea and requested a jury trial after being extradited to Bay County, Florida, on March 31.
  • Bond and restrictions: Judge ordered no contact with the alleged victim and no unsupervised contact with any minors. Bond set at $600,000; he is out on bond.
  • Defense vs. prosecution: Defense says treat him like anyone else and notes no prior record; prosecution calls the allegation serious, cites lack of local ties, and pushed for strict no-contact with minors and a substantial bond.
  • Kendra’s situation: Arrested March 20 for endangering the welfare of a minor; bond set at $1,470. A source says her case stems from a post-charge home inspection that found door locks on the outside of two rooms; the source also says her kids were removed and stresses it is unrelated to Joseph’s Florida case.

It is a lot, and it is moving quickly. The legal process is just starting, but the restrictions, the bond numbers, and the separate arrest make it clear this is not going away anytime soon.
