How old is Ellis in Sterling Point?
Prime Video's Sterling Point hands out ages pretty freely. Annie is 17 and turns 18 in episode five. Ramona is 17. Ellis, the marina kid who flies the seaplane and spends the season orbiting Annie, gets nothing.
So here's where the number actually comes from.
What the show tells you
Nothing directly. Ellis Anderson, played by Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, is never given an age in dialogue, in the official synopsis, or in any of the episode-five birthday business that pins down Annie and her twin brother Connor. He's described as a local who grew up on the island and works at the marina alongside his father Joe, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
The best estimate is 18. Two things point there: he's a plausible love interest for a 17-year-old who ages up mid-season, and he flies a seaplane for the family business in episode one. Canadian commercial pilot licensing starts at 18, which puts a floor under him even if the show never says so.
The actor is a lot older
Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie was born in March 2003, making him 23. That's a five-year gap on a character who is probably a recent high school graduate — and by Sterling Point standards, that's on the modest end.
- Ella Rubin (Annie) — born September 2, 2001, so 24 playing 17.
- Amelie Hoeferle (Ramona) — born June 5, 2002, so 24 playing 17.
- Bo Bragason (Oona) — born March 27, 2004, so 22 playing roughly 17. She's the next live-action Zelda.
- Daniel Quinn-Toye (Rory) — born November 3, 2002, so 23 playing around 18.
- Keen Ruffalo (Connor) — 25, playing Annie's twin. He's Mark Ruffalo 's eldest.
Casting adults as teenagers isn't new — Stranger Things and The Summer I Turned Pretty run the same math — but Sterling Point's line-up skews old even by that standard.
Why Ellis stays vague
The ages the show does confirm all do narrative work. Annie's 17-to-18 turn matters because she's inheriting an island. Ramona's 17 matters because it establishes how close in age she is to the sister she didn't know she had. Ellis's age does nothing for the plot, so the writers left it alone.
Which is also why every "how old is Ellis" answer online is an estimate rather than a citation.
Who is Ellis, exactly
He's the deuteragonist opposite Annie — a boat driver and pilot at the marina, and one point of a triangle with Rory, the wealthy New Yorker from Annie's middle school who turns up on the island. The complication is generational: Ellis's father Joe was involved with Annie's mother years earlier, which means the kids' romance sits on top of an older one nobody has fully explained.
Season one dropped on Prime Video on August 5. Created by Megan Park, who made My Old Ass, it's set in the Muskoka region of Ontario, which is why the marina and the seaplane are doing so much work in the first place. If a second season ever puts a number on Ellis, it'll be the first time.
