Very soon we will see the events leading up to the crucifixion of Christ.

Summary

  • The Chosen is incredibly popular despite the lack of promotion by the major services.
  • The last episode will be available on Sunday.
  • It can be watched for free on several platforms.

Religious media is as present in pop culture as secular media, and over the long decades of cinema and television we have seen a plethora of stories devoted to the apologetics of one faith or another.

In the case of the Christian The Chosen, however, creator Dallas Jenkins has managed to strike the right balance between proselytizing and historicism without reducing the show's plot to stereotypes about the events described in the Gospels — one of the show's key features is its non-white cast, many of whom are of Semitic descent, including Jonathan Roumie, who portrays Jesus of Nazareth.

The respectful treatment of both the New Testament and contemporary scholarship, the excellent acting, and the engaging script proved to be a breath of fresh air in Christian media. In addition, the crowdfunding system and free access to literally every episode allowed The Chosen to gain immense popularity. And now, in just a few days, the final episode of Season 4 will be released.

Let's find out where and how to watch it.

When Will the Final Episode of The Chosen Season 4 Be Available?

While new episodes of the previous three seasons of The Chosen premiered on Sunday across multiple platforms, Season 4 runs on Sundays at 7 p.m. ET and Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET. As a result, the final eighth episode, titled 'Humble,' was scheduled to go live on the show's YouTube channel this Thursday, June 27. However, due to the US presidential debate between Biden and Trump, the episode had to be pushed back to Sunday. Let's take a look at the release schedule for each of the Season 4 episodes, including the final one:

Where and How to Watch the Show?

The success of Season 4, as well as strong support from Fathom Events, ensured that the entire season would be shown in theaters from February 2024 to March 2024, ending before the Easter holiday. Now, The Chosen Season 4 is also available on demand.

Unfortunately, none of the major streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, HBO or Apple TV+ have licensed the show, but there are still plenty of options.

YouTube

The final episode, as we said, will livestream at 7 p.m. ET, and it will be available on The Chosen's YouTube channel. If you have the time and inclination, we highly recommend this particular option, as after the new episodes air, Jenkins and the cast discuss the production, the impact of the events on their own lives, and chat with commentators.

Website/App

In addition, all new episodes will be simultaneously released on The Chosen's official website and on a dedicated The Chosen, available for Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, iOS and Android. Another service that provides access to The Chosen is the BYUtv channel, whose app is also accessible on all major operating systems.

DVD and Blu-ray

Of course, there are more traditional ways. For example, you can buy a DVD or Blu-ray of each season! This can also be done on the official website, where they offer both seasons individually and bundles of the whole series.
