Henry Cavill Developing Animated Warhammer 40,000 Series for Prime Video
Henry Cavill is lending a hand to bring another Warhammer story to life — but which corner of that far‑future battleground is getting the star treatment next?
The new animated “event series” zeroes in on the Deathwatch — the Imperium’s black‑armored alien hunters — and is being built in parallel with Amazon ’s live‑action Warhammer 40,000 project. Henry Cavill isn’t just a mascot here; he’s an executive producer on the animated show as well as on the live‑action side.
On the live‑action front, Mike Flanagan is steering development, with story outlines completed and scripts in progress. The animated companion expands the same universe rather than standing apart from it.

Cavill’s Warhammer bona fides
Cavill’s connection to Warhammer goes way beyond a producer credit. He started in the tabletop hobby at age 10, famously returned to hand‑painting miniatures during the 2020 lockdowns, and even got a tongue‑in‑cheek salute from Games Workshop during a visit to Warhammer World. He fields an Adeptus Custodes army, has said he plans to build Necrons next, dives into lore in interviews, and has championed the video game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
Amazon hasn’t announced casting, episode count or a premiere window for the animated series. It’s being developed alongside the live‑action Warhammer 40,000 project, with Flanagan’s outlines done and scripts actively underway.
