Hayden Christensen confirms Anakin comeback in Ahsoka season 2
Anakin Skywalker is officially returning: Hayden Christensen confirms his comeback in Ahsoka Season 2—here’s everything we know so far about the Disney+ series.
Well, there it is. If you were waiting for someone to just say it out loud, Hayden Christensen went ahead and did it: Anakin Skywalker is back in Ahsoka Season 2. Not exactly shocking, but hearing it from the guy in the armor is still a jolt.
Yep, Hayden said it out loud
At SpaceCon San Antonio on June 21, 2026, Christensen confirmed that he will return as Anakin in Ahsoka Season 2, which is slated for 2027 on Disney+. Season 1 already dipped into that Ahsoka-Anakin dynamic with Clone Wars-era flashbacks and a Force Ghost moment, and this pretty much guarantees that thread is not done.
"Anakin will be back in AHSOKA Season 2."
- Hayden Christensen, SpaceCon San Antonio
Ahsoka was one of Disney+ biggest hits and brought a bunch of fan-favorite corners of the galaxy roaring back. So yes, this is the confirmation fans have been chewing on for months.
Who is back for Season 2
- Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano
- Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren
- Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger
- Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla
- Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn
- Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati
- David Tennant voicing Huyang
- Rory McCann stepping into the role of Baylan Skoll after Ray Stevenson’s passing
- Zeb Orrelios set for a bigger live-action presence
Quick refresher: where we left off
Season 1 ended with the galaxy in a worse mood than it started. The mission to keep Grand Admiral Thrawn from coming back? That failed. Thrawn broke free of exile with the Great Mothers and made it back to the known galaxy. Ezra did finally return home, but the cost was steep: Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang are stranded on Peridea. Baylan Skoll ditched Shin Hati to chase a mysterious ancient power tied to the Mortis gods. That finale was basically a giant neon sign for Season 2’s conflicts.
What Season 2 is teeing up
Thrawn is expected to rebuild Imperial strength, likely juiced by Nightsister magic. Ezra and Hera have to convince a skeptical New Republic that a real threat just walked in the door. Ahsoka and Sabine will be fighting to get off Peridea, and that escape plan is probably going to intersect with whatever Baylan is hunting down with the Mortis mythology. Add in a bigger canvas, deeper Force lore, and yes, more Anakin, and this is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Star Wars stories in years.
So, with Anakin officially back on the board, expectations for Ahsoka Season 2 just went from high to ridiculous. The only question now is how the Chosen One fits into the chaos this time.
