The stills, released Monday, April 13, preview Cal visiting Nate (Jacob Elordi) and Nate’s fiancée Cassie (Sydney Sweeney ) at their place in the suburbs. He had gone public with his diagnosis less than a year earlier, in April 2025, saying:

The show’s loss extends beyond Dane. Angus Cloud, who played Fez, died at 25 following an accidental overdose, with reports listing July 2025. At a premiere event earlier this month, creator Sam Levinson talked about the long gap between seasons and honoring the people they’ve lost — and referenced 2023 when discussing fentanyl overdose statistics.
